Northcutt left Tri-Star BASICALLY because his dad didn't like that he got tired training. Thx, daddy.

If you can't handle da riddum, leave.

"During a recent trip to the famed Tristar Gym in Montreal, Northcutt began tiring after a few days. He has cardio for days—he can run a sub-five-minute mile, and his father says he can fight five five-minute rounds without breaking a sweat—but the pace of Tristar’s training was more than he was used to handling."

Bad idea by Northcutt's dad.  While I understand the concerns for his kid, this could **** up Sage's career.  At the very least, his dad should look to have his kid look at another elite MMA gym like ATT, Blackzilians, AKA, Jackson-Winklejohn's, Roufusport, etc. for his kid to train at; so that Sage's potential doesn't get squandered.

I agree with you guys. I get that Sage is 19, but maybe his dad should let his son make his own decisions in HIS PROFESSIONAL career.

That sounds bad. I might have to pick against Northcutt whenever he faces some more dangerous opposition which Pfister isn't.

I think this fight will be closer than allot of people expect. Pfister is a tough dude.

Anyone who has questions about the Northcutt's needs to follow frontrowbrian on twitter. Dude's dad was clearly sauced back in the day, was caught with 25 keys of coke, then turned face on his suppliers to stay out of prison.

The guy clearly wasn't the best person, and I believe he was selling steroids back in the day too. Sage seems like a nice kid, but he looks like he's been genetically enhanced for years and I think it's going to catch up with him in time.

Northcutt has been taught how to beat drug tests since he was like 3. Dude's ahead of the game.

I agree with the sentiments of the people in here, his dad clearly does not have his best interests in mind. I mean for **** sakes, I think the rumor is that he is leaving Tristar because the training sessions seem to be really hard and strenuous. For **** sakes, Sage needs a camp like that at this point in his career, he doesn't want to become another wasted talent like BJ Penn where he had it all and wasted it to be in a "yes man" camp. I hope for his own sake, he becomes his own man and stop listening to his dad.

His dad is a former steroid abuser and coke mule/rat. Odds are he wants as much control over his sons career as possible because he sees Sage is a golden goose. I seriously question if Sage is clean, very unnatural looking body(at 19), former body builder(a culture where teens use steroids at a very young age and a large majority), father is a known steroid abuser...And they sell us the story he got the physique doing pushups and cartwheels every morning...I don't know.

I just spoke with Sage earlier this week, the TriStar stuff is not true. He was only supposed to be there for a few days to test the waters. OAM and a coach flew back to TX with him to train. He's going back to TriStar for (probably) a full camp after this fight. As far as the steroids go, his dad definitely has a sketchy past. I'd like to give Sage the benefit of the doubt, but I also know that he'd probably do whatever his dad asked him to do. Hope he doesn't pop, but I know he's been tested twice.

He is sort of like how Robbie Lawlor was in his first stint in the UFC.  He was the first attempt at a new star and both are/were about 20.  They both were hyped and were looked at as freakish athletes. We saw how well that went for Lawlor the first time.

Maaan. Between this and the Embedded, I'm legit a fan of Pfister. Seems like a genuinely cool dude. I'm pulling for him. Seems like he's legitimately excited for this. Keeping it real as fuuuuuuck.

@mikeyg BJ Penn is a former UFC Welterweight and Lightweight champion, and beat the likes of Matt Hughes x2, Takanori Gomi, Kenny Florian, Matt Serra, and Renzo Gracie.  Exactly what potential did he squander in his career?

Cody Pfister needs to change his nickname to "The Sister". Would love to hear Bruce Buffer call that.

Pfister is plodding and looks terrible on the pads. Sage is going to run over him in the first two minutes.

Yeah everyone says he's embracing this and he's going to have a chance cuz they watch embedded. I personally find him very hard to listen to and now skip over each portion of him in embedded because he's kind of annoying.
