I think you're looking at the rankings that are an accumulation of the user rankings, hardly anyone updates those anymore.

Nobody really takes ranking the non-UFC women's divisions seriously.

So I take it Zoila and Jorge Gurgel are divorced now? I don't see the hyphenation anymore.

Zoila should have taken an taken an easier fight after the long layoff, return to 115 (her last two fights were at 125) and losing streak. Specially, not take a fight against a hungry up and comer in a set up fight in which she has to make 115 pounds exactly and fight 5 rounds, before the layoff she was having trouble making 116.

Its not the ranking that bothers me as much as a major promo giving s title shot to someone coming off of 3 losses in a row. The UFC, Bellator or even Legacy wouldnt do that.

I feel like it may be just a play to get more eyes on the show. You're right as there really is a lack of sense in pitting her for the belt other than figuring her name value is enough to warrant the title shot in hopes many hardcores and/or casuals might tune in, oblivious to the fact that she has done so poorly as of late.

@Sensei Kreese The UFC has given plenty of title shots to fighters coming of losses. In recent memory we have Gustaffson, Cormier, Sonnen and Nick Diaz. Also, in the most recent case of Gus getting a title shot coming of a loss. It's not like there wasn't another worthy contender, Bader ( top 5 coming of five straight wins)

Eh, how many choices does a non-UFC, Invicta, or Bellator promotion really have for women's fighters? And Zoila is still ranked at 125 which is such a dead division now you might be hard pressed to find 10 fighters who are better.

I think it was pretty much just RFA wanting to get their home grown talent a win over a name opponent. Plus, in their defense, Zoila was "undefeated" at 115.
