The Interesting Historical Photographs And Videos Thread

I'm a big history buff and when I did some browsing on reddit, there was a thread where users would post awesome historic pics and videos with cool stuff from WWII and so on.  So I figured: why not do the same here (with a bit of a twist of course)?   In this thread, you can share any pictures and videos (MMA related or not, of course) from history that you have seen on the web here; as well as some background information on your post (if you so choose to).

Two caveats: 1.)  Keep it as SFW as you possibly can. 2.)  Try to avoid double posting the same pics.  I only ask of this, just so that we can keep the thread fresh and interesting.  (Note to the mods and admins:  If you feel that there is any guidelines that should be added to keep this thread from violating any specific rules to cause it to be removed, please add input.)
