At least we get a nice replacement fight with a deserving contender. Arguably more deserving than Karakhanyan.

Unfortunate for Karakhanyan, but this is 100% the better fight. The fight that should have been made originally.

Yeah, Weichel definitely deserved the shot more than Karakhanyan did yet. Didn't realize the height and reach difference was so huge, tough outing for Freire.

He was able to deal with it well against Curran via circling to the outside and forcing Pat t engage him and enter his range and than strike from there.  On the subject of Pat Curran i really wish eh went back up to lightweight, because it seems the weight cut is effecting how he's fighting.
