I think a lot of people will buy it just for Rousey. She's helping bring MMA into the mainstream a lot. I mean, you see people constantly talking about if Rousey could beat Floyd Mayweather and ****. As dominate as Anderson Silva and GSP were it doesn't seem like they received the mainstream attention Rousey did. Granted she's made herself a star outside of MMA, but I think the main appeal is that she's an extremely attractive (IMO) woman who destroys top contenders in 10 seconds or so. She's gotta be one of the biggest draws the UFC has nowadays.

CthulhuJones, that is true, I wasn't really considering new/casual fans who are getting attracted to the sport because of her when I made my post. She (and several other) is bringing down the stereotype of butch, ugly women who are fighters. For me this fight is shaping up into a card I'll take my chance on a stream to watch it or if the weather is good head out to a bar. But right now I don't see the value in paying to see Ronda fight - that isn't an insult to her either, it is due to lack of opponents for her to help make an interesting fight.

Personally I wouldn't pay for this card but I can see how many people would. The "hard core" fan base likes to laugh at Dana when he says Rousey is one of their biggest draws but it is absolutely true. That doesn't include any cards she has co-main evented either. She is not putting up GSP/Silva numbers but those guys weren't putting up those numbers for a long time either. Of all the current UFC Champs she is one of the biggest draws and headlining against someone like Bethe will prove that.

For a fighter who claims she is going to knock out Ronda Rousey she only has two knockout wins on her record... Rousey will give her, her first loss and everyone will be splattered with a month's worth of UFC fecal matter about how Ronda is the greatest things since chips in a bag.

Bethe has no business in there getting a title fight off of beating some of the worst in the Wbw division.I always say though,I would rather see a champ fight anyone than have them sit around building up the perfect fight in which someone would probably get hurt before anyway.This really is the least I have looked forward to any title fight in maybe ever though,it's really pushing my just fight someone in the meantime thoughts.

To borrow a term from baseball, the UFC is "selling high" on Bethe Correia. When an average baseball player goes on a unsustainable run of success, for example a career .270 hitter who's hitting over .300 for the season that can't possibly last their team will trade them at maximum value to try and get an inflated return. Bethe has 3 wins in the UFC, all of them look less impressive after the fact so the UFC is putting her in a title fight before she regresses. Its fitting that this fight is happening the day after the MLB trade deadline.

I do believe she actually wants to prolong the fight but if what I think will happen does and Correia bull-rushes her like every single opponent did until now (except Carmouche) Ronda will be forced to armbar her way out of the ensuing scramble.

If there is a way to beat Ronda its with patience and managing the distance kinda like what Holly Holm was doing against Marion Reneau. I'm worried that Bethe is just going to charge straight at Ronda and get taken down and submitted.
