@Skelliher, as a fan of Lauzon's I'm sad but willing to admit that this was my lock of the night.

Prediction: wrong Guillard   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 1

I thought if there was any way for Lauzon to win it would be in the first round, although I also thought Guillard would take it in the first round just because he's the better striker and Lauzon has been knocked out before.

Prediction: wrong Guillard   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

Anyone who thought Lauzon didn't have a chance would have to be kidding themselves. Truthfully I bet against Lauzon but it for sure wasn't because I thought he didn't have a shot. Because lets face it Melvin's Achilles heel has always been submissions and when he becomes to "****y."

However the initial reason I bet against Joe was simple, in his UFC career he almost always has come out at a extremely fast pace, and if the person manages to make it out of the first round he always seems to gas out, and truthfully I expected Greg Jackson and Melvin to have worked their game plan out to use Melvin's speed and superior footwork to stay clear of Lauzon and also use his superior wrestling to avoid the ground game which has always been Mellvins weakness. But clearly Mellvin made the fatal mistake of overlooking Lauzon and Lauzon proved tonight once and for all that he can't ever be overlooked.

Prediction: correct Lauzon   correct Submission   correct Round 1

To be fully honest I thought Melvin was going to weather an early storm and either out-point Lauzon or TKO him in round 2. But Joe's a beast. I've sparred with him on a few occasions, and dealing with someone that aggressive isn't fun.
