Big step up for Tavares, but a winnable fight for him. I can't pick against Romero, though.

Really hard fight to call, I love Cuba have the utmost respect for its athletes and for Olympians but Yoel was losing to Brunson and every decent opponent hes faced has taken him down on several occasions while Yoel hardly threatens with his wrestling prowess. A big step up for Tavares? I'm not so sure it is, Lorenz Larkin is probably more accomplished than Yoel along with having a better record in MMA....Wins over Lawler ajd arguably Carmont and Camozzi boasting a 13-1-1 record when Tavares beat him. Tavares on the other hand has looked unable to finish fights and his.last five or so wins were close decisions.

It's a hard fight to pick, I like both guys and the winner will undeniably pop into the top 10 or get a top 10 opponent. If Romero was 26 too, I'd pick him but Tavares has a decade of youth on his side.

How good is Tavares' TDD b/c based on both their previous fights I think he can take the decision on the feet.

Brad Tavares has fought and beaten much better than Yoel Romero.

Gonna be a long night for Brad, he's tough MF'er though...so i expect a Decision for Yoel, no 3rd round KO this time.

I can see Romero winning in dominate fashion. Brad Tavares has always come across to me as someone who's talent and ability doesn't reflect his UFC record.

I'm having a hard time playing this match out in my head. I can see Tavares out pointing Romero, but I can also see Yoel pushing Tavares around for 3 rounds. I don't think this one ends in a KO for either man. Tough call.

Tavares being 26 and Romero being 36, you gotta think Brad will take the fight based on his youth and steady win streak over solid UFC 185 pounders. I've gone against Tavares two times, it may seem ridiculous but sometimes I will take in to account going against a fighter and losing as a sign that I should him pick the next time.

I think unless Tavares gets put out cold, he should win another decision.

Brad asked for a step up in competition and he didn't even get a top 10, he's like 7-1 in the UFC.

I would rather fight Cain Velazquez than Romero. The Cuban fighters are just terrifying. There's no option for dismemberment, so a K.O will do.

I hate this, but I'm changing my pick.

Tavares has great fight IQ, Romero has the opposite of that.

Hope I'm wrong.

This is a tough one. Taveres is very well rounded and Romero has been really showing off his skills as a standup guy. The thing is is that Romero is a finisher and Tavares isn't which is really where I am torn Romero hits like a damnmack truck but Tavares could pull a Chael Sonnen here and lay and pray for 15 minutes too. I am gonna pull for the more exciting of the two options.

Sucks to say this because I absolutely love Romero, dude looks like the coolest dude on earth, but I think Tavares is going to be too fast for him unless Romero can actually start abusing his Olympic silver medal wrestling (though I have a feeling that was a long time ago and actually give Tavares the slight advantage in the wrestling since Romero's TDD hasn't looked Olympic level as of late)..

I think Tavares can dodge the Romero bombs and get the decision win here via youth and speed.

To win this Romero needs to get close and stay close, I just don't see that happening against an ever improving Tavares.

Tavares has been improving each time we see him. I expect too much cardio, too much speed, and too much fight IQ. Tavares wins 30-27
