Let me ask you guys a question about this fight picking stuff. Should i try to get the highest percentage that i can? Or keep a decent percentage and pick as many fights as possible?

@kalibo, props for having a solid percentage and picking that many fights.

I hope people don't think I cherry pick because of my low amount of picks. I pick every fight I know, but it takes a lot more luck than skill/knowledge when you are picking the prelims at XFC 17. I pick just about every Bellator fight, every SF fight, every UFC fight, and I browse the smaller shows to find guys that I can look into and make educated picks, but when it's a 2-3 guy against a 4-5 guy, I'm probably not going to make a pick.

@Buffalo do whatever you feel comfortable with! I think everyone would agree there is no right or wrong way to pick, if it weren't for the contests and the competition they bring I would go with Minotauro's strategy which I was doing when I first became a member

@mino whereas u see it being harder to pick, i LOVE the smaller events...when i know ALOT about the fighters, i tend to overthink myself...
case in point, my top 10 finishes all time have been...
3rd at BEP 5
1st at BAMMA 7
9th at Proelite 1
4th at ROF 41
5th at Tachi palace fights 10
8th at Shark fights 16
1st at Cage Titans 5
9th at AFC 1
3rd at Titan FC 16
1st at Strikeforce challengers 14
.....case in point, the 'biggest' event i've been among the best in was SF challengers...i really have a bad habit of picking with my heart on big events...couture vs machida, tito vs evans, carwin vs jds....ugh

I was over 70% before I started picking every event lol, its more enjoyable for me though. It gets me to watch more of the smaller shows and lesser known fighters.

@buffalo I think most people end up just doing whatever makes it the most fun for them

One thing we'd like to do is come out with some different calculations of people's pick performance, so that it's easier to compare people (those who pick only big fights vs those who pick all the fights, etc...).   At the moment we're focusing on some other stuff though...

Some just like to down arrow to get your post score low or to eek a reaction out of you.  I just ignore it.  I think @Live2 hit it on the head.  Do what makes MMA and the site more enjoyable to you and don't worry about % comparisons or how success is rated.  If you're having fun and enjoying it, you're successful.

The real ballerz pick on every fight I don't, but i pick  ufc, bellator, WEC (used to) and SF.   Much respect to anyone picking every fight with a percentage over 60..
