I think this fight would be one of those that nobody ever forgets. Even the casual fan. Huge fireworks. I have abseloutly no idea who would win but it would be crazy to watch.

I agree with you. Both men would be forced to play into the other persons strengths, and it would really test BJ's standup.

Aldo would win right now. speed kills and penn is much older. if penn can't handle edgars movement he would not have much much of a chance vs aldo imho.

I disagree Wolf.. I think Edgar is much more elusive then Aldo is. Not a better striker but Edgar can move in and out so god damn quickly.

If BJ would go back and have Marv Marinovich do his strength and conditioning and take this fight at 145 it would be the sickest fight ever! At least for me where Penn and Aldo are my #2 and #3 favorite fighters!!

@ hush. penn is almost 8 years older than aldo and when maynard beats edgar i think edgar will move down to featherweight and we will see him fight aldo and we will see the speed difference. just an educated opinion.

Bj would have this.  It would be entertaining but the size advantage would favor bj so much.  Striking bj has way better boxing and grappling is a no brainer.  Aldo would have to out run bj to win and i dont see bj letting that happen again.

You mean that size difference that did nothing for him against Edgar who is no bigger then Aldo? BJ does not have way better boxing and he a lot slower. He also never checks leg kicks. Remember what happen to faber, yea BJ gunna have the same thing happen to him except he even slower.

I think your exaggerating BJ's "slowness".. BJ is a better boxer. And even if it wasnt working in the stand up he could take Aldo down and beat him there.

Aldo would pick Penn apart. Leg kicks galore.

I not ezaggerating anything. it not that Penn slow, it that Aldo is much faster then him. Faber is much faster then penn as well and so is Edgar as proven in there fight. I would bet money Aldo has a speed edge on even edgar.  BJ might be slighty more skilled boxer, but his signicant disavantage in speed make it almsot irrelevent. He also the inferior striker of the two.  he could take Aldo down and hold him there based on what?  You assume he try this because?  When was the last time Penn tried to take an opponent down who was willing to strike with him?
