Silva has been fighting consistent, and Belfort was sitting for a little bit,Just got overwhelmed by all the talk about fighting Anderson,But now he is gonna be on a tear and not letting anything get to him. What do you think?

I agree with @Danno.  Belfort hasn't done much at MW.  He got a gift shot imo.

It definitely was a gift. He beat Franklin at a catchweight of 195 and without taking any fights at 185 he gets a title shot. He loses to a lot of today's MWs. Akiyama may be one of a couple he could actually beat, and I think he may even lose to Akiyama.

He beat Terry Martin and Matt Lindland at 185 followed by the catch weight domination of Rich Franklin...Thats a hell of a lot less of a gift then getting a title shot after getting KTFO in 21 seconds and then beating Dan Miller even if it was an injury replacement

Martin and Lindland aren't even in the top50 though @Soccer. And he didn't dominate Rich. He landed the always famous back of the ear punch.  Belfort did not deserve that shot and I think we all know that.

I agree he didn't dominate Rich, but he has a name and was on a nice winning streak so his title fight would sell

Yes Belfort will learn from that it was just overwhelming for him to get a shot a the title,he had the title back in the day till randy came threw,I agree with that front kick first one to KO someone he will be on a come back UFC 140.

I don't think Belfort would do any better in a rematch with Anderson.

Belfort would give Anderson a better fight the 2nd time around. However Vitor needs to win a couple fights in a row before that happens.

I can see Silva pulling guard and going for the triangle/armbar since Vitor will have more knowledge of and (hopefully) a better ability to anticipate Anderson's striking in their second match. It might not end in round 1, but it probably won't be going the distance either.
