Alcantara vs. Silva

I am gonna give this fight to Alancantra he has more fight experience and he is on a solid 8 fight win streak 7 of which have all been finished.

It's hard to tell Brazilian guys with great records...because in the Brazilian leagues, it's like half cans and half really tough guys you just don't know.

Alcantara proved himself well in his UFC debut, so I'll give him the edge...plus he should be in much better shape.

Alcantara will be huge at 170, he should overpower Silva and dominate this fight.

Why are people picking Alcantara by sub when Silva went to decision with David Vieira who is probably 100x better at BJJ than Alcantara. I don't think people realize that Alcantara is only a brown belt and that Prado is only a blue belt. From what I know Buscape is a legit black belt, who is coming out of Chute Boxe.

Alcantara is so solid. Silva doesn't have many impressive wins on his resume .. actually, basically none. He is facing a guy who has fought heavyweights and light heavyweights and now fighting at Welterweight. That is insane. If Alcantara's cardio can hold up, I can't see Silva causing problems for him. 

Unbelivable ... I just watched the weigh-ins and not only did Alcantara make weight it looked like it was no biggie, dude looked like he walks around at 171 :)

That makes his win over Prado even more impressive ... short notice vs. a legitimate 205er and it looked relatively easy for him.

Buscape Silva Is a Chuteboxe product and has a lot a submission wins. There are some of his fights on YouTube, he has a very active guard & top ground control, Uses the single leg to get the fight to the ground, and likes to switch stances when he's striking. He's got good stand up. He holds a win over UFC vet Chris Wilson. I am sure he would try to take this fight to the ground where he can control.

I was worried how the weight cut would affect Alcantara, but he Actually looked good and did not look dry. He does not use too much head movement because he uses his length just lean back out of  range for punches and he does have a height and reach advantage over Silva. I was impressed With his chin, he did take some big shots from Prado and kept going. So I do not see him getting knocked out in this fight, I think he will keep the fight on his feet and take it to a decision if not a late knock out.
