Man now this has some good fight chemistry, Marquardt has only been knocked out once and it was to Anderson Silva...sooo Ellenberger's power isn't going to be his strong point here I think like it normally is, I see it as being a decision fight in either guys favor.

Not as easy as it sounds, Marquardt puts most of his weight in his front leg in order to transition into takedowns that would be much more powerful than if they were stemming from his back leg. Because so much weight is on the front leg, to lift your leg to check a kick would knock you off balance.

Very quick turn around for Nate. To fight a guy as good as Ellenberger after just 8 weeks removed from getting your leg destroyed is pretty gutsy. I just hope Nate can get a win in his long overdue return to the UFC.

@P4pgoat That is correct, He fought in Jan and this fight is in March (this month). It is only 2 months since his fight with Saffediene. Quick turn around from a grueling fight. He took a lot of damage...

As bad as that leg looked, it was mostly tissue damage. Not like he broke a bone or damaged a ligament. Those are the injuries that set you back a couple months.

I think Marquadt has all the tools to win this fight, but has one of the worst fight IQs in the sport. He just never seems to put it all together. How he let Okami outstrike him is beyond me. TWood hit him with way more quality straight lefts than I thought he should have before that amazing KO - if he let's Ellenburger do that he's going to sleep. And while I like Saffedine, for Marquadt to keep getting peppered with leg kicks and not control the distance when he has damn good kicks himself or work the takedown is just freaking weird. Marquadt finds ways to lose fights and I expect the same here.

I think Marquardt will win and may even get a finish.

But I agree with TAMA in the sense that Marquardt has a lot of tools and is pretty well rounded but he sometimes seems totally off, i.e: Okami, Tarec, and it ends up costing him the fight. If we see the full potential Nate, I think he will be able to get the TKO on the 1st Round.
