I am hearing that tomorrow Dana White will make two fight announcements.

Cain Velasquez vs Bigfoot Silva 2
Junior Dos Santos vs Alistair Overeem

Again, JUST A RUMOR. But its from a usually reliable source of mine so I thought I would share.

And it makes replacements more readily available.

I like the setup of 158 and loved 146 last year. That could'v been a disaster when Reem got popped but turned out to be one of the best cards imo.

I think having 3 fights on a card that everyone wants to see is the only way to guarantee PPVs don't get canceled in the future. But Bigfoot Cain is not a fight I think will be a good fight again... Bigfoot is too slow for Cain, I see another bloodbath, & I have no problem allowing the division to sort itself out a bit, so I would prefer they wait 2-3 months rather than forcing a poor fight on us.

Nice, I'm honestly looking more forward to the co-main than the main event though. Cain vs Bigfoot happens too soon imo...

Cain-BF2: too soon IMO, but I guess there aren't many options out there and its always fun to watch Cain fight so what the hell. I just hope Bigfoot doesn't continue with his streak of upsets cause he'll **** up the entire division, lol.

On JDS-Over: At first this match seemed to have lost some edge after watching Uber get UberKOed by BF at 156, but once you think about it, you have to consider that both JDS and Overeem did not perform as they usually do on their last fights, both were very passive, hesitant and didn't really let those hands loose. I'm sure they're both aware of that now and they'll make sure they get to use them this time, so this kinda makes the fight a little better IMO.

I am not convinced that Bigfoot is quite ready for Cain as yet.  I think he still needs a little more seasoning and honing his skills.  I like Jitz' suggestion of Stefan Struve.  But I can't think of a good fight for Cain just now.

Bigfoot will always get TKO'd in the 1st round when he fights Cain.

@Bill, "he still needs a little more seasoning and honing his skills"

He's 33 and has fought Fedor, Overeem, Cormier, Arlovski, Werdum (and the list goes on) ...

You're talking as if he's a young prospect ... what more seasoning are you talking about?
Yeah, he might tighten things up here and there but he'll never be at Cain's level ...

Other than that, he can win or lose against any top 10 UFC heavyweight on any given day.

Not bad, but I don't see him becoming UFC champion any time soon (or ever).

I would LOVE to see Overeem vs JDS. Even though they are both coming off losses and it wouldn't have the same magnitude of the title fight they were supposed to have, it's gonna be amazing.

By seasoning and honing, I think Bigfoot would be better off fighting Stefan Struve and Roy Nelson.

I just don't see him ready just yet for Cain.  That is all I was trying to say.

I agree with you Bill. The UFC has always been low on HW fighters, and I guess Cain doesn't want to wait. Too bad Werdum is tied up with Big Nog. I believe he should be next in line, or at least have Big Foot/Werdum II

At the moment, I think Cain doesn't have a good opponent.

The only guys I put in his class are JDS, Overeem and Carwin.  Lesnar was there but he retired.  They don't get that many guys in that special elite level very often.  And Carwin might not be there anymore.  But those guys are super fighters.  Carwin was a super puncher and a decorated wrestler.  But he might not be able to hang at that level today.
