"We fought each other in practice," said Jones, who pushed his record to 13-1 with last month's triumph. "A finish has been possible several times and it has always been me finishing him. I never did it out of respect that he was the elder of the school. It's against protocol in a way. Some people would do it but I believe in tradition.

Generally revealing what could have happened in practice in a more or less self promotional way is frowned upon by atheletes and considered poor form/taste.  "...yeah... like i had him in this position, then like i could have totally put him in a choke.  but i didn't.. so.. heh.. yeah..."  What's your point buddy? You guys were in a practice.

I really don't see any way Rashad wins this fight. I respect his game, but Jones is so big and strong with solid tdd. Obviously in a fight anything can happen, but I see jones putting Rashad on his back using some greco or some judo. Wrestlers don't like being on their back. I think Suga also has an iffy chin. Mainly just hoping for a good fight.

Although this verbal battle between both guys is a bit out of control.  The reality is this fight will sell lots of PPV just because as humans thrive on other people's drama.  What better way to see two former teammates go at it.  I do not see any way Rashad winning this fight unless Jones slips and knocks himself out.  i think Rashad is a great fighter but Jones has made a mockery of every fighter he has faced.  Sure Rashad may have some inside info on Jones...but Jones has the same so the odds are even with that.  Good luck Evans but I think the more talking you do before this fight will just embarrass you more after you lose...and lose badly.

K Jones has looked great in every fight but i still think hes getting just a little too much hype still saying Rashad doesnt have any chance is stupid...! ... K shogun looked out of shape completly in his fight with Jones and didnt throw any kicks... Bader looked like he gave up against Jones after 1st minute but i dont think Rashad will be as close to as easy as anyone Jones has faced...! ... If Rashad lands a takedown i think it will seriously mess with Jones and i think he will land a takedown because he mixes up his strikes with takedowns very well....! He can knock Jones out and the feet and Pound him out imo.... Then again wont be shocked if its another Jones Dominant victory but i dont think it will be.... Come on Suga!!!

Rashad has an advantage over the other guys that have faced Jones in knowing exactly how fast and powerful he is and not having to wonder before going into the fight....Jones also knows this of Rashad....I'm thinking their training together is really gonna slow this fight down and we're gonna see a long time before they engage in the 1st round

I think the fact that rashad is a decent striker is whats going to get him into trouble. I want to say that bader couldnt take him down so rashad wont be able to but rashad can set up take downs where baders shots were telegraphed. This fight isnt easy to predict since jones hasnt fought anyone like rashad yet, and vice versa. We all know styles make fights and theres no way you can use mma math on this fight(or really any other fight for that matter). I do think rashad has all the tools to beat jones, hes fast, his footwork and head movement are very very good for someone whos as strong as he is. And he can setup take downs. Putting money on rashad +400 is a good bet i think. Im picking Jones to win but i think the fight is a lot closer than people think it is.

I just wish these guys were a little more clever with the pre-fight talk. If chael cant fight again he needs to be a hype coach. Rashad looked like he was hitting on Rampage during TUF when they would banter back and forth.

The one major thing I am considering is the long layoff Rashad has had.  I haven't seen too many fighters be at their best with long layoffs.  I hope the fight is competitive but I have a feeling it won't be.

Jones out wrestled the Janitor, Vera and Bader.  He out struck Bonnar and Shogun.  Bisping and Ortiz nearly beat Rashad.  Normally I hate MMAth, but I think it is pretty obvious that unless Rashad lands the same punch he gave Liddell, he doesn't have chance.

True but Rashad is a better wrestler than Vladdy and Vera, hes also a better striker than Bonnar and the version of shogun we saw.

I respectfully disagree about the striking...I don't think Rashad is near Shogun's level of striking.  I see what you are saying about the wrestling and I agree.  I mention it b/c of the absolute ease Jones handled them.  I still do not think Rashad has a chance here unless he lands a dinger.

I agree here too.  At some point Jones may get caught by surprise with one of these crazy moves he does; however I actually think he is much too strong for Rashad.  The way he handled Bader was shocking.  At the end of the day I see fighters losing fights when their will is broken.  Bader, Shogun, Vera, Hamil (although it was DQ) the list goes on.  I honestly think that this fight will be no different and Jones will run through Evans.  I would love to see a 3 round war but just can't see it happening.

Dont get me wrong, i dont think that Rashad's strinking is on shoguns level. I do think his striking is better than the shogun we saw vs jones though. I think we can all agree that shogun didnt look right in that fight, he was very sluggish. Rashad, hopefully, wont be.
