Since it's a slow day in the world of MMA, I thought it would be cool to talk about Tapology and ourselves.. anything at all regarding the same.  I'll get a brief start going..

I live in PA, am 30 and have been a fan of MMA since I was a teenager.  Work for the railroad and rarely ever miss an event regardless of promotion/stature.  I like Tapology b/c of the environment it fosters.  I wish we could edit/delete our posts... maybe have categories of threads for the forums, but all in all, I appreciate the type of place this is thus far.

You will supposedly start seeing snow accumulations along the major eastern cities between 1pm and 3pm and continue for up to 24hrs, with some areas (Greg's house) getting 2 inches an hour for several hours during the over night hours.

Kalibo is this blizzard supposed to surpass the epic one in '78?

The talk and comparisons started yesterday... there is the potential for sure (according to accuweather).  The info we get is much more prepared and detailed than what goes up on their websites and projections.

The blizzard of 1978 had snow falling at a rate of 4 inches an hour at one time. I don't think this current storm is going to hold a flame to it. Plus 1-3 ft, while a lot of snow, isn't that bad. After living in NY for a decade, 6-8 inches seems to be the most common snow fall, with 1-1.5 ft  of snow isn't that bad. It's the storms in October and early November that are generally the worst, since leaves are still on the trees and other flora/fauna are caught unexpected. Generally that leads to down power lines, and other mayhem.

For the most part it depends on the area and how it can handle snow. Upstate NY is generally good about clean up, while Long Island seems to not be able to handle snow (I was at university so I might be wrong on that). Best place that handles snow though is Buffalo. Those people think 2-3 ft of snow is common. lol

Also In other news, apparently Jack Slack (makes those amazing striking breakdown articles) is being moved from Bloodyelbow to Bleacher Report. That is a damn shame.

@Wish... the snow totals will absolutely compare to the blizzard of '78... maybe even exceed them.  The rate of snow fall is dangerous for drifting conditions, but either way when you're talking about that much, your buried anyway.

@Poir... I work for Amtrak.

They said as of 8pm that our facilities in Springfield mass, New Haven CT already have 8 inches and further east have a foot... Boston with 8 and they described as "tropical, but white"... lol. Winds are really blowing apparently.. and we're just getting started.
