I don't know about anyone else but it always seems like Bellator is the last thing I get around to watching. I think they can benefit if they were on Friday or Sunday. Thoughts?

I liked it on Thursday nights where it used to be.  Bellator publicly says they were happy to take Saturday when they set this up with MTV2, but I can't imagine that's really true.

I wonder if there are many fans like you, though, who are torn between Bellator and a boxing event.  Boxing isn't on my radar, personally.

I'm fine with Saturday, but that's because I don't watch Boxing...basically just Strikeforce, UFC, and Bellator. And it's usually on before the big events so I don't miss anything.

@Gregory

Well I came to MMA by way of boxing and kickboxing and I enjoy all martial arts. I could also put 2011 Pan BJJ tournament back on March 26/27, which was aired on Budovideos all day long.

For me personally I feel like boxing is the most entertaining combat sport (when it wants to be). Kickboxing is the most entertaining for a technical fight. And MMA, for me, is the most interesting to analyze (where I spend most of my time).

But after reading these comments, it sounds like it's good for MMA-only fans and a burden for combat sports fans like myself.

@ghost even though I don't watch boxing, Bellator on Saturday is still a pain.  There's another MMA event almost every single Saturday.  And even when they move the Bellator start time to 7:00, now there's UFC prelims on Facebook.

All I can say is thank goodness for DVR. With Bellator on Saturday they have to compete with UFC, Strikeforce, and Boxing. It's those weeks they have a competitor on in the same slot that they do the worst.

With the UFC basically counter-programming them with the early start times. Yeah I think they should move back to Thursdays or go to Friday or Wednesday.

I watch Bellator any Saturday night there isn't a UFC event because I usually need to find..  other means of watching Strikeforce..  anyway they've been putting on great shows so it does suck to see their ratings so low.
I mean this season they've already had an inverted triangle choke performed by a freakin 205er and a devastating flying knee knockout.  People are really missing out.
Maybe it would be in their best interest to move back to a Thursday time slot when there isn't much else for people to watch and no one's going out to party because there's work/school the next day.  Stuff for them to think about.
Also for people in Canada Bellator has been playing Live in HD on The Score (509 on Rogers) which I don't think is something the US fans are getting right now.  They get a ****** standard definition version of it on MTV2.  In Canada it costs money for MTV2 as well while The Score is free.

Bellator on saturdays can defenetly be a drag! The few times I've had the chance to watch a Bellator event its always been more than worth while. Perhaps the next time their is another event on at the same time as Bellator you can try screening them both side by side. Me and lynxguy did that one night for a Bellator/SF double header, it was hard to pick what fight to focus on but no matter what half of the screen ya looked at something exciting was bound to be happening.

@LynxGuy and zerohours

No I admit they have some of the more entertaining shows out there. Which is part of the reason I get mad that I tend to miss most or all of the show, when I'm watching something else.

Don't get me wrong, I DVR most of there shows (forgot to with 40), but it's a tad annoying to have to do that.

I just feel like Bellator is MMA's version of Friday Night Fights, even though there a bit more entertaining and meaningful then most FNF broadcasts. But it the grand scale there still the last thing on my mind when other events are on.

I've really become a Bellator fan in the last few months and would be very pleased if they moved to Friday so I don't have to try to do the flip back and forth thing when PPVs are on.

Lets face it, you aren't going to miss the fights you paid for to watch the fights that are free. A Friday move would be perfect!

If you goto the Radio section in Sherdog you can download Beatdown episode 777 with Bjorn Rebney.  He explains the whole process behind why they chose Saturday and also from where they started and where they want to get to eventually, it's a very good interview.  Bjorn is very well spoken, intelligent guy, he really knows what he's talking about and I have faith he'll take bellator to the level we all want to see it at.  Plus he's the son of the winnebago man, and that's just rad to the epic degree.
