Who exactly was Belfort "holding down and punching in the face" at old PRIDE? Bobby Southworth? Heath Herring? Gilbert Yvel? Matsui? If you're gonna go "old school" on us, at least know what you're talking about.
Belfort's PRIDE career was mediocre at best and every time he got a big name, he lost. By the way, so is most of his career. The whole "phenom" and "old Belfort" thing is a myth created by that one fight he caught Wanderlei Silva in (way before his prime). "Old Belfort" was a guy who was fast and strong enough to beat big fat and slow fighters and got lucky against a future legend. He's had a good career and he's a good fighter, but don't go building him into anything he's not, and if you DO want to show his worth you'd go by his UFC career and not "old PRIDE", he's done a lot more in the UFC than he ever did in PRIDE.
Give me another big Belfort win (and don't even go to post-DREAM Sexyama or overweight Rumble). Rich Franklin. Maybe. UFC. Randy Couture (even though he kinda got lucky with the cut, I'll give you this one too). UFC.
