I agree they will need to put some serious star-power on this to get anyone to buy it. Some people's budgets are stretched thin enough without paying for yet another PPV.
Being an MMA fan is getting ridiculously expensive and I think trying to squeeze more loot out of us may backfire if they eventually try pushing a UFC AND Strikeforce PPV on us every month.

@Geezhound: I agree. I'm spending so much time at the bar to watch fights that I'm starting to feel like an alcoholic.

They could always amend the price of the PPV to get buyers. Maybe a $29.95 buy or even $39.95 buy to make it less expensive to test the waters. They absolutely would need Dan Henderson... Fedor has never really been a big draw in the States. I'd say they would have to have the HW GP fights on this card and Henderson with a cheaper buy to be successful. I'd buy it then.

And considering the fact that most of the casual bar fans that show up to watch UFC PPVs spend half the night asking me when Chuck is going to defend his belt, they definitely aren't going to know **** about King Mo and will think Roger is Royce.

My limit is one PPV a month regardless so the only way I'm paying for this card is if it's better than UFC 132 which I think is going to be very unlikely. I still think the more power Zuffa (casino owners) have in the MMA world, the more it's going to cost remain an MMA fan.

The cost is ridiculous. I'm with LynxGuy on the one PPV per month... especially if you want to watch in HD and spend an extra $10 per show. If Carano is ready for the SF PPV, I'd throw her on there too bc she's a big draw

I used to buy each UFC PPV and watch the SF fights via youtube, that won't be possible now that Zuffa owns SF though. i don't see myself buying this stuff. I think this will be the ultimate test for Zuffa to see if they want to actually keep SF running when their Showtime contract renewel comes about in a few years.....

I'm wondering how hard it will be to find a stream of SF events now with Zuffa behind them? how much does showtime cost in the US? SF events are aired on a movie channel here in Canada for about 16-18$ a month...unless SF starts airing events more frequently it's not worth buying the awful channel i wouldn't watch any other time... i went the with much better movie channel package that included HBO

They'd have to stack this card for me to buy it...but maybe since I'll be out of the country for UFC 132 I might have to buy it to get an MMA fix!

@bklettke: Unless Strikeforce and the UFC has superfights, but Dana already shot that down.

Dana shot down teh SF guys coming to the UFC due to the contract w/ showtime, but I'm pretty sure he didn't rule out the possibility of UFC guys going there, especially now that they are talking PPV's.

I highly doubt I would buy a Strikeforce PPV event. I already have showtime and buy UFC PPV events I don't think I want to float the bill for SF.

I don't buy PPV's since I feel it's wrong for these corporations to knowingly kill the sport because there too greedy and/or stupid to come up with a more logical business model.
So it's doesn't really affect me, but I have been hearing rumors of a Zuffa PPV of Strikeforce. It's really no different then WEC 48.
