I don't think Randy has much of a chance but we'll see...

I guess I'm against the majority here.  I do think its possible Machida hurts Randy, but I just see Randy decisioning him... or even a TKO from the top.  I think Randy's Greco > Machida's Summo.  If Randy can't get inside, he loses.  If he can, he wins.  My opinion :)

Machida by TKO.  Hate to see a legend like Couture get dominated, but that's what is going to happen here.

No one else thinks Randy will be able to do anything against Machida?

I think Randy will hold Machida against the cage for 15 minutes just like he did to Vera.

Randy by UD.

@Geezhound: I could see that happening.  I just hope it doesn't end up like Machida/Tito with Randy trying to chase Machida for 15mins.

I agree another Tito/Machida would be horrible, but Randy isn't a dolt like Tito.

Randy knows his career is over and probably doesn't give 2 ****s about this fight. He can stand in the center of the cage and wait for Machida to attack.

Machida on the other hand is trying to climb back up the ranks and need this win. He can't simply run backward for 3 rounds because Randy won't be chasing him.

Yeah Lyoto Machida needs a finish. He can't keep fighting going backwards for 15 minutes and then complain about a bad decision. His style is great for Self Defense but bad for judging decisions in MMA.

Machida's movement will nullify the majority of Couture's take downs.  Randy's boxing is too linear, so if he tries to strike his way inside, he'll just find himself on the receiving end of Machida's point-fighting style, leading to a one-sided UD.  If Couture can't get Machida down and control top position, he'll lose a snore fest UD.

agree.  It's a toss up but I do feel that Randy will be able to get Machida down but will he keep him there?  He hasn't fought in a while so who knows but I an going for Randy.  Don't know what it is but I never caught on to the Machida hype....great fighter though.   I think he's one of those guys that once you figure out his style he will be much easier to fight.  Shogun exposed him so let's see what happns

IF this were the Couture of a few years ago, i'd say he takes it..don't know how, but he would find a way because thats what he does...Im not thinking that anymore, not because his skills are diminished, but because he doesn't really care anymore...he's talking about this most likely being his last fight, and it hasn't happened yet!...machida NEEDS a win after losing 2 in a row, and couture would rather be doing something else.... my opinion, if couture gave this fight his all, in the gym and in the cage, he'd win a UD...but, i just dont think he did.

I think Machida will win since he has a lot of pressure on himself to win coming off a two fight losing streak (or three if you count the first Shogun fight) and Dana White may cut him if he loses although I think that would be a horrible move. I think the fight will look a bit like Couture's fight with Brandon Vera that I thought was either a close win for Vera or a draw except it will be a lot more clear that Machida is the victor. He will probably win by decision, it is hard to ever count out Randy though, and he deserves all the props in the world for fighting a top 5 LHW just 2 months before he turns 48! That is just amazing.

@POPMYTRUNK... I think you're right, though win or lose I believe this is Randy's last parade.
