Rashad Evans said he would drop to Middle weight to fight :) I think him dropping would make this division a little more competitive...Thoughts?

If the #2 lhw in the world is going to move divisions it's to fight for a title. If not for a title he might as well stay where he's at and win a fight or two and get another title shot at 205.

Like Jon Fitch? He won't get another shot for a while.

Rashad won't get another shot for a long time as long as Jones is the champ. Like Fitch with GSP.

I doubt that. Fitch got totally dominated and badly beaten up by GSP. Rashad fought a good fight against Jones and I think Rashad has the tools to still beat Jones. Rashad is one to 2 wins from another chance at the belt. Why would he cut more weight to fight Belfort or Lombard? That makes no sense.

Um, I remember the fight Rashad put up maybe 1 good round and then fought not to get finished. He wasn't dominated as much a Fitch, but none the less he was dominated. When has someone gotten a title shot  1-2 wins after getting beat handily? Not even Florian, Dana's golden boy did. I think Cain is about the only person who has and that was because he got caught early on in a 1 minute fight which told us very little (look at the current odds, they are close).

evans will dominate the MW division. its a smart move b/c andy will be retired and evans is a better wrestler than weidman and munoz.

When Andy retires, and Evans moves down (if he decides to) then theres no point in calling it the middleweight division, may as well just call it Rashad's division.

Jones beat Evans no doubt. But there was nothing dominating about it. Jones dominated Shogun he dominated Machida he dominated Bader. He didn't dominate Rampage or Rashad. You're crazy to not think that if Rashad won a couple fights over top 10 205ers that he wouldn't get a rematch.

Damn!  I probably should have seen that coming after his loss to Bones, but I'm still a little surprised for some reason! Definitely a good move on Suga's part.  Whatever advantage he loses in speed, he might well be able to make up for with his wrestling, which should be an even bigger asset for him now that he'll be fighting smaller guys than he's had to wrestle against in the past.

Rashad may be 32, but if he can make the cut and get used to it, he could be a VERY intriguing piece to what's becoming an improved Middleweight division!

@wolfmanhowl.  That is pretty bold to say Rashad is a better wrestler than Munoz man.  I would agree that Rashad is faster, but not sure I would go with a better wrestler IMO.  Regardless, I agree with you that Rashad would be very successful and eventually MW Champ....when Anderson Silva retires.

Munoz' wrestling hasn't translated that well to MMA.  I definitely think Rashad would out-wrestle him in MMA.

@AnAlias, I wouldn't disagree with your comment, I think in the cage, Rashad has become a very effective fighter and excelled at optimizing his already outstanding wrestling pedigree (proven vs Phil Davis).  I assumed good ole wolfman was throwing out pure wrestling and I would still disagree with the comment regarding Munoz with my assumption.
