I'm excited for Davis/Jones, but don't really think the time is right for it

We'll see how he looks tomorrow night but I don't think Phil is ready.  Awesome wrestling and good top control wouldn't be enough.  I see Davis having a hard time against several fighters... Rampage, Rashad, Machida.  Would like to see him beat Little Nog and then another step up before the Jones talk gets too out of hand.

Rashad, rampage ect all have a 10 inch reach disadvantage thats crazy, davis is only 2 inch's shorter with a 5 inch reach disadvantage. If you have a 10 inch reach and 4 to 5 inch height advantage over 99 percent of your division you have a great future.

I think they could be fighting for the title next year. But right now, we still don't know whether Davis can hang with the top fighters of the division.

Phil Davis has a particularly large amount of interest around him right now due to Jon Jones' performance last week, so it's the perfect time for him to put on a good performance against Nog and capitalize on this momentum.

If he beats Nog, I his next fight could be for #1 contendership.

Definitely agree with trevpick's feeling that Davis has incredible potential and physical gifts (good reach, ridiculous upper body strength).

Agree, and giosanti has it right that now is the time to really shine. With everyone falling all over themselves to praise Bones, if Davis can really come out looking like a threat he's gonna be on the radar.

I've already been dreaming about Jon Jones fighting Anderson Silva at light heavyweight.  At this point I really don't know who would win that fight.  I think Phil Davis is a great prospect, but I don't think he's really got anything to offer Jones.  Jones would still look like a monster next to Davis and I think we'd see another classic Jon Jones demolition derby.
