If what I'm hearing is anything more than a rumor. The UFC will do a WEC type merger with strikeforce once all contracts are up. Does this mean the ladies will all do bellator?

I'm really not sure. Maybe the UFC isn't sure either. Perhaps they just keep letting Strikeforce work on the women's division over the next year or two, and wait to make any decisions.

Dana always says the problem with women's mma is that their isn't enough depth. I think it is consistently getting bigger, and in the two years it takes for Showtime's contract with SF to end (which is the earliest that they will merge), women's mma could be much bigger. A lot can change in two years, Bellator may not even be around.

Even though women's MMA is still in its infancy, I'm actually a fan. It would be nice if ZUFFA put some recruiting muscle behind trying to develop it. Maybe a women's TUF season?

Other promotions started integrating bantam and featherweights long before UFC absorbed WEC, and those same promotions are using woman as fighters, again, long before the UFC, so UFC will create a woman's division, it's just a matter of time really.
Now we just need fly and strawweights.
