Prediction: correct Varner wrong Decision

Barboza's power is overrated, he's a very accurate and technical striker but he's not powerful at all. Varner's got a good chin but he can't win.

Barboza's got great power. He's rocked about everyone he's fought. The thing is that he doesn't have the killer instinct that guys like Jose Aldo has. When he has someone hurt he doesn't pounce on em. The reason is he's probably used to doing Muay Thai fights. Another thing is that he's too passive of a striker. He doesn't take a lot of shots but he backs up too much when you pressure him. That's the reason why he could've lost to Pearson and Njokuani. Oh yeah, and Barboza is as ripped as ever for this fight. Check out his pics on Facebook.

I also don't think Barboza's power is overrated I mean he won 7 of his 10 fights via TKO/KO 4 with KO. Pearson and Njokuani are both tough and Barboza's fighting in the LW division you can't expect a finish everytime...

didnt realize varner was coming back, seems a bit quick but i have no issues with it in the slightest. I think this is a good fight to show where both guys are at and i think barboza takes it, fairly dominant.

Barboza hasn't faced anyone with Varner's wrestling skills so this could be a test for him and his takedown defense. Varner has decent stand-up but his front leg will pay if he makes the mistake of standing with Barboza too much. I think Barboza's leg kicks give him the big advantage here and are the main key to him winning this fight.

I think many are underestimating Varner .. the guy had back and forth wars with Donald Cerrone ..and don't forget that styles make fights and Ross Pearson had a very competitive fight with Edson Barboza .. Varner always pushes forward .. gonna be hard for Barboza to get in those leg kicks moving backwards .. this will be a close competitive fight in my opinion

+360-380 in real life is a good value bet for Varner. Barboza edged a SD over Pearson fight before last. That highlight reel KO of Etim has inflated Barboza to -520 in this match. 4 to 1 on your money for Varner is solid.
