Irvin allegedly tested positive for Epitrenbolone, also known as Trenbolone Metabolite. Trenbolone, taken by intramuscular injection, is a steroid typically used on livestock to increase appetite and muscle growth.
Sherdog.com confirmed news of Irvin's alleged positive test on Wednesday with California State Athletic Commission officials.
any thoughts on this?they offered me a fight with him at Gladiator challenge a local show here in socal but i was injured so turned it down.he hasnt been doing too good lately with his fighting career

Would this mean his fight with Houston Alexander is canceled?
Was hoping to see Irvin smash him again.

If true it's a shame. Irvin looks like he's just not been in good physical condition the past couple of years. It seems everyone is different. You've got Couture in great shape and still able to fight at a high level in his late forties, and then you've got Karo Parisyan whose body is broken down in his late twenties.
Irvin was also rumored to be fighting Houston Alexander in 10 days at Shark Fights, and now that just got canceled.

It's a shame, I can't believe he got popped again. First, he tested positive for Oxymorphone, and freakin' Methadone!!! Now he gets popped for steroids, which everyone always suspected anyways. Hopefully he gets his **** together and stays healthy.
About his fight against Houston Alexander, from what I've heard, is that Texas doesn't honor other states suspensions, in other words they don't give a ****...lol. So when Irvin gets his suspension from the CSAC, he'll have to fight in a state that doesn't care, or overseas.

Are they canceling the entire event or just the matchup? If it's just Irvin out, Keith you should step up and fight Houston! They offered you Irvin, why not Houston!?

Just the matchup, not the event. It was only the co-main event. The event will go down on HDNet.
From reading Keith's post above, looks like it was Gladiator Challenge that offered him a fight on a different card.

He beat alexander already without using steroids. I don't get why he thought he had to use it.

even since Silva gave him the "goats ******" on his face, he really has never been the same. Then he tried to cut down to welterweight and looked like an skeleton. Still he gets mad dapps for having possibly one of the worst cuts in the history of mma

Keith "KO KID" Berry is completely right. James Irvin has been talked about as one of the most chronic steroid users the sport has. It's pretty sad, he's a great fighter.

I agree about many fighters being on steroids, just think how many people abuse steroids that aren't even athletes!
