no it won't. Brenneman has a factor that only he possesses over any UFC welterweight:

Awesomeness.

He will smother Silva with his awesomeness,I know Brenneman's chin is fairly average and falls to power fighters but the question is does Erick Silva's power lie in the same league as Johny Hendricks (he may have landed a fluke punch on Fitch but goddamn, not anyone can KO Fitch, it's impressive someone could KO the guy with a fluke punch) and Anthony Johnson is a light heavyweight.

Brenneman (who looks ridiculous in his Tapology photo by the way) is best known for stopping the Rick Story train with a huge upset. However, the only other 2 guys that he's faced that are/were at or about Story's level are Johny Hendricks and "Rumbleweight" Johnson, both knocked him out. I think Erick Silva will be at that level sooner or later and will also KO the Spaniard.

I hope I'm wrong but nothing Silva has done convinces me that his sprawl will be better than Rick Story's. A brutal body knee as Brenneman is rushing in is certainly possible though.

I tend to favor accomplished wrestlers vs. anyone who hasn't had to deal with an accomplished wrestler. He needs to weather the storm for first round and if he succeeds, his grinding tire you out style might get him the win.
