It wouldn't add one it bit. It is your bones that determine the reach (finger across the shoulder to your other finger). That's like saying you would get taller if you add muscle mass. They measure across your back so it wouldn't mess it up. Jon Jones isn't that muscular for his division and he has the longest reach in the history of the UFC other than Semy Schilt I believe. It's all in your genetics. Generally people's reach are about equal to their height.

How bout Brock Lesnar? He's got t-rex arms but a huge chest and back which explains his 81 inch reach. If your chest gets wider and your shoulders get broader and your back gets larger, then shouldn't your reach length increase if it's being measured from finger to finger?

Brock Lesnar actually has pretty long arms his muscles being big might make them look smaller.
A good person to check would be Alistair Overeem if you really wanted to check (can't remember if Pride FC checked reach though)
Sean Sherk was muscular, but his arms were tiny (67 inch reach). The guy fought we WW and LW too. 5ft 6inches in height lol.

That means you are not within the average reach to height ratio? They have been referred to genetics freaks many times, but that is because they have a massive wingspan and are also tall. Also whoever is downvoting and feels they have a better understanding please chime in.

the Gil de Freitas fight made me believe Brenneman can take him down easily. Silva has some nice sweeps but if Brenneman can survive the first minute, he WILL take Silva down.
I think silva wont be finished but he loses a decision unless he hurts Charlie pretty badly. and this coming from someone who is pulling for him.

I don't see why people are so high on Brenneman. Yeah, his wrestling is good, but he loses this fight everywhere it could go and even possibly on the ground. Silva's BJJ will probably equal out Brenneman's wrestling and Silva will get the 1st round stoppage. I simply don't see Brenneman lasting long enough with Silva to get the decision.

I hate Brenneman's "grinder" style of pure control and winning on points. But this guy has stung me before. He ended Rick Story's hot streak with his back on the mat; and Story is a legit wrestler with well rounded skills and solid TDD. Silva is a total young gun and could be the next big thing; but hes completely unproven off his back. And while he has finished everyone in front of him lately; further back in his career he's had issues with his gas tank because of his wild power punching style. Brenneman is tailor-made to wear guys like this down. Brenneman in an agonizing UD.
