Interesting match up. While Belcher is good, I have a feeling it's gonna hit the ground and he'll be subbed, but it's MMA and anything can happen.

i like belcher. i kinda want someone to knock out paul harris. i eventually want wiedman to face silva after sonnen losses in brazil. weidman can face munoz when he gets back. sorry for my tangent. i'm multitasking at the moment.

I wanted a bigger name for palhares but maybe thats next if/when he beats belcher especially considering this fight will be on FOX, thats great exposure for Toquinho

Ill be pulling for Belcher here but im pretty sure palhares will simply be too powerful.
Whoever wins this fight i want to see fight Weidman, I would love to see Palhares fight Maia, but Palhares is simply to far up the ladder while maia is too far down the ladder.
But who knows really.

@wolf i like where your going, cept i'm looking for munoz to be the one who gets to silva. idk if he beats silva...i certainly wouldn't pick him too. but i would pick munoz to beat weidman, but i think thats a great fight. weidmans definitely for real

@freeman palhares is awesome, but he's pretty limited imo...i think belcher can keep from havin his knee ripped apart and either get the stoppage or win a decision.

@krazyhops I can understand how you came to the conclusion that Palhares is "limited" but I have to disagree. The guy can do a lot more than just kneebars and heel hooks, he would have tkoed Dan Miller,a guy who has never been finished, if wasnt for his pre-mature celebration. Besides, even operating under the assumption that he was "limited" that doesnt mean he can't be in the upper echelon JDS has won all his UFC fights almost solely with his boxing and hes the champ.

Yes I understand that the heavyweight and middleweight divisions are quite different but MMA is a sport of speculation and I'm merely a guy speculating that Toquinho is a future champ.

@freeman i know what your sayin when it comes to jds, and honestly i didn't mean that palhares was limited because he can only use kneebars and heel hooks. he's got some striking, but part of why i see him as being limited is cuz he's so short. he probably gives up at least 3 or 4 inches in height to everyone else in the division...height isn't everything, but he's so much shorter than the other guys in the division and the reason he weighs the same is cuz he is so thick with muscle...and thats part of the limitation as well imo. i don't think you can be that stacked and not lack cardio....thats a lot of muscle and that muscle needs oxygen

but i'm a fan of him, i'd like to see him go far in the division...i just see it as doubtful

Palhares has been looking really good recently, i certainly don't seem him getting beat by Alan Belcher. Toquinhos standup is slowly improving and he placed second in Abu Dhabi, only to be beat by Galvao who was also the absolute champ so his jiu jitsu is pretty ridiculous. If it goes to the ground, which it most likely will, Belcher sleeps with the fishes.

I think Palhares will win this one but it will be by decision. I see this fight going similar to the UFC 134 fight with Miller.

Belcher could win if he fights a perfect fight, but Palhares is so good at what he does.  Belcher certainly could get caught.

haha I didn't mean it literally.  Belcher has to be very, very careful.  Palhares doesn't need Belcher to make much of a mistake for him to suddenly find himself with his foot facing the wrong direction.

haha, I'm just playing. I get what your saying.. Belcher will definitely need to come in with a sound gameplan.

Seriously UFC? The guy runs trough everyone not named Dan Henderson and Steroid Nate (while in this case it's due to a brainfart) and I really mean runs through and makes them look like they don't belong in a cage with him and you give him Belcher? Unless he gasses terribly and Belcher ends the fight in the 3rd I don't see him loosing it.

@jaffa agreed 100% they both on a 3 fight winning streak with comparable opponents, and I might be biased since I'm a Belcher fan but I give him a legit chance in this fight. He's not helpless when it goes to the ground and he should dominate the stand up, but Paul Harris is just a f...ing animal so we will see how that goes...

Yes in terms of streaks and beaten opponents they are in the same spot but Palhares has though better oponents and done better against them even when he lost. He also wins in a more convicing fashion than Belcher. I'm also a Belcher fan so I'd rather see them fight other people too ;)
