What is everyone's feelings and opinions about Bones getting the title shot?Personally I think the winner of Rampage and Silva should've gotten first shot, although that is months away.I am hoping Rampage comes through and gets to face the Champ! Whether it be Bones or Shogun!!!

I was kind of thinking Rampage should get the shot myself but where he was already lined up to fight Silva it makes sense. The winner of Rampage vs. Silva should get the winner of Shogun vs. Jones or Rashad depeding on how long hes out

I actually think Jones is more deserving of the title shot.  I don't like seeing fighters getting title shots when they're 1 - 1 in their last two while there are other fighters who are putting solid streaks together.  Jones and Bader were both top 10 light heavyweights and Jones destroyed Bader with ease.  I don't even remember a fighter ever putting Jones in danger.  Then to top it all off Jones is the favourite to win.  Joe Silva made the right call here as he often does.

Jones is definitely deserving. That win over Bader shot Jones up into the top 5 for me. I like that they gave Jones the shot he has the best shot of beating Shogun right now.

Shogun just stated that Rampage was offered the fight first, but turned it down for one reason or another. If this is true and i had to guess it's probably because he's not back in camp since his last fight and 6 weeks isn't enough time to prepare him for Shogun.

That said, Bones was my #2 for quite some time, although not necessarily deserving of it, i always saw him being there soon. I hope to bump him up to #1 after this fight. I think he's more than deserving and i think he'll he's going to do to Shogun what he doesn to everyone. Put him on his back and win the fight.

I think he's definitely deserving of it. I put him at #2 after he dominated Bader and I think he'll probably end up taking the belt

Those guys have all had their shots and done what they've done with them. Jones is absoultely the best light heavyweight right now and he deserves the title shot.

The fight is a win-win for Jones. He doesn't risk much stock if he loses to Shogun, and his gains are going to be huge if he's able to beat Shogun.

I see the fight going differently than most. Shogun is a veteran,he has seen about every move from every angle.yes Jones brings a new dimension to the UFC,Shogun is at a different level than anyone Jon Jones has faced in his life.I dont see Jones winning this fight on the ground or on the feet..Shogun keeps the gold,,remember Experience can't be measured on paper, only learned and earned!!

I guess Rashad deserved it the most... then they offered it to Rampage who wasn't ready.  So it's not like the UFC tried to put Jones first in line ahead of those two.

I bet Evans and Jones already know who gets the best of each other in practice.  My guess is that Jones would win a fight, but it would be a tougher matchup than Ryan Bader was.  Doubt we will ever see this fight happen.

@greg, rashad and jones would be interesting.
I wonder how their practice time looks.
Jones will do well against shogun but i think shogun takes it.

I'm such a huge fan of Rashad and Jones so I'm glad they refuse to fight each other.  If they did fight though I think Jon Jones might actually win.  Rashad's a great fighter, but Jon Jones is just a new kind of fighter.  Jon Jones has already done so many different things inside the Octagon that no one else has ever attempted and he's done them while legitimately dominating his opponents.  Rashad would put up more of a fight than Bader and maybe even take Jones to a decision, but I said this once and I'll say it again, I think Jon Jones can put any fighter in the division on their back and keep them there.

I don't think he deserved it, but he has tremendous potential and is already a fan favorite. They are hoping he can win and become the next big thing in the UFC.

The idea is for him to be champ for a long time, and continue to gain more and more dans so whenever he fights.. people will buy the PPV.
