Padilla demonstrated an abysmal advantage in grappling: practically taking him down whenever he wanted and choke him easily. It could have been the typical DWCS alumni debut (debuting with a loss), but what seriously leaves me thinking: Llontop is 0-1 in UFC and has face tattoos, it will be difficult to get a regular job in case he loses 2 more in row at UFC.

Should've watched fights of these guys before making this pick. Llontop is TERRIBLE and Chris Padilla is good, looked like a civilian fighting a top fighter.

Btw Padilla is a super good dude for calling out Benitez, giving the ufc an reason not to cut him, everybody know he won against Maheshate, Hayisaer hit mostly shoulders and gloves most of the fight and Benitez clearly won round 1 and 3

I've said it before (I wasn't the first lol), DWCS gets some good prospects but often it's just fodder for the machine that will take 20 and 20.
Compared to UFC level, of course. Usually the matchmakers are good at avoiding total cans.

Contender series isn't always meaningless, sometimes they put two really good fighters against one another and sometimes one or both of the fighters are really bad. It's down to the same measure to evaluate as every other fight, tape study.
