How can a professional fighter not train anymore? That's odd... and quite unprofessional.

when i've heard that Sotiropoulos pulled out of the fight i thanked the MMA gods for that, cause at least Gomi wasn't going to be submitted again... but then they give him Mitsuoka, with 11 submission victories and wins over Gleison Tibau and Joachim Hansen... don't be fooled, the 92%/8% odds are completely off track. My brain wants to choose Mitusoka by submission (or even decision), but i just can't bet against Gomi... everyone knows he packs some power in those hands. i'm rooting for the reborn of JMMA legends!

Prediction: wrong Mitsuoka   wrong Submission   wrong Round 3

I haven't been impressed with Gomi since he joined the UFC, and he's going up against someone who loves to submit their opponent.  I don't think Gomi will recover from his run of bad form anytime soon and Mitsuoka will pull out the upset.

One thing that I think Gomi will have an advantage with is that he has fought in the cage, which seems to be a huge factor for Japanese fighters (I kind of understand, but that the same time don't since its their fault they generally refuse to train in the cage...Mr. Aoki, I'm looking at you). This is why I have Quan beating Tamura, as well since experience goes long ways in this sport.

Agonized over this one. Gomi seems so uninterested and incapable of improving his game and training. But with Mitsuoka on somewhat late notice, and needing without a doubt to get this fight to the ground, I'll go with the consensus and take Gomi.

Yeah, I can't remember exactly what Gomi said, but something along the lines of "I don't really focus on my opponent or their strengths, just train my way and do what I do"
