Jailton has only himself to blame. Went for so many takedowns, never went for any damage or submission, did not even get hooks in to control him and paid the price. Brilliant

This was just.... I don't even know what to say. He shot a takedown, got hit with 2 hammer fists, decided to still hold on to the leg or completely shut down and keep getting hammered.

This was bad. Next fight I better see striking improvements and a diverse takedown list on Almeida. No more shooting double legs from super far away.

Almeida never changed his game up.. can't do the same thing over and over in a division with so much power. You shot for a leg after beating landing a nice combo instead of resetting and settling back in.. then just kneed down and allowed him to hammer fist you 14 times without even thinking about moving

i think almeida just wasn’t ready for someone on the same athletic level as him. almeida has always been a athletic monster compared to the people he’s fighting and it allowed him to make those mechanical mistakes that curtis called out + the terrible far out shots

While Jones is still out due to the terrible injury he suffered in October, I think Aspinall vs. Blaydes 2 is an excellent idea for the interim title: after all Aspinall was injured after 15 seconds and did not have the opportunity to show himself that night, Blaydes win by Tom's injury but a win in a record is a win in a record and they can fight in August or even before.

@VicStrk He should've known better. There are so many examples of fighters that get smashed after holding on too long on naked takedown or submission attempts without protecting themselves. Dawson vs Santos, Spann vs Walker, Pereira vs Prochazka, Mendonca vs Maness are just a few examples of that
