^Both these fights im a little split on, but I agree with the strickland breakdown. I do think Abus at some point will be a ranked fighter, but this is too big of a step up too soon after fighting under 20 seconds in the last almost three years. But i really dont rate petrocic that high. I do think she is as bad on the feet as people say, and loopy did try a trip or two against luana and she defended. Luana needs to learn how to throw punches better but I do like her high kicks/knees and clinch elbows. I think if she can defend a take down and end up in a clinch situation she can use her nice elbows and knees, petrovic got dropped by an elbow in the first round of her last fight. BUT like I said Im kinda split on both of these

Romanov V Ivanov

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 2179th

Pick - Romanov TKO R2
I like Romanov here. I know he did not train for his last fight and looked absolutely horrible, I know he quits when the going gets tough. But this has to be a spot where he is motivated to do better. Or else he might get cut very soon.
Basically Ivanov is a stout, indestructible boxer with fast hands. But we should remember he is almost 38. He also has a sambo background but rarely wrestles though he has a decent clinch game. Now he is much smaller than Romanov and though he has some wrestling ability he has been taken down by so many non wrestlers, Tybura and even Derek Lewis among them. The fight I really think tells the tale is the Tybura fight. Tybura took him down and mauled him. He had no answer, no ability to get up and he looked completely lost. If Tybura can do that Romanov can do that x 10. Also it does not matter if someone has decent traditional takedown defence, Romanov will just pick you up and dump you on the ground. And I know everyone is worried about Romanov's cardio, but if Ivanov gets taken down and mauled I think Ivanovs cardio will look pretty suspect too. Finally the weigh ins, Ivanov looked awful. Like he did not want to be there. And though Romanov did not look fantastic, he did not look terrible either in my opinion. And he was much bigger. I have never thought that Romanov's finishing ability is great, his ground and pound looks ineffective though the visual of a donkey kong style pounding is impressive it does not seem to do much damage, and his submissions are meh. However I think this will end in a late stoppage, a round 2 or 3 TKO as Ivanov gets tired. If not at the very least Romanov should bank 2 rounds before losing the last.

I could be very wrong. Womens MMA after all. But I really have not been impressed with Luana and I think Ivana has upside. This fight will probably tell us who will stay in the UFC and who will get cut. From a betting point of view better to avoid it I think. Even the overs are risky here as I could see a finish from either side.

The thing I did notice about the Loopy fight though was that a lot of Carolina's defence and offence worked because Loopy was so short. When Loopy clinched she got hit by knees and had to rush in to close the distance. Even then Carolina was getting caught and her head was getting snapped back. Her striking defence is pretty terrible. Petrovic is the same size as Carolina and I feel her straight punches will potentially match or beat Carolina's and if she can avoid the knees and get on her legs I think she gets the take down. And Carolina looks pretty lost on the ground when she is on her back.

I just feel Petrovic has more ways to win and she could be getting under rated here.

Pick - Britto Submission
No breakdown needed. Britto by finish. I think the best bet is Britto by submision.

Nursultan Vs Ferreira

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 2179th

Pick - Bruno Ferreira TKO
Another interesting fight. Nursultan is much taller, but Bruno looks like he is on all the juice. This could be a striking affair, and I can see Bruno going to the body and catching Nursultan as he backs away, but where I really see a difference is the takedowns. Nursultan has horrible takedown defence and Bruno can wrestle and if he gets it down as I expect he will he will pound him out. Either way I am not convinced one bit by Nursultan. Not by his padded and possibly fake record. Not by his finishes, a lot of which seem suspect. Or by his skills which I think are questionable and against questionable opposition. The question of whether Bruno has 3 round cardio is probably not going to matter because I think he gets a round 1 ground and pound TKO. Maybe Nursultan will prove me wrong, he is training for the last year with the Renzo Gracie Philly guys and I know that Sean Brady has spoken highly of him. But I have to see it before I believe it, and right now I don't believe it.

Last 3 fights on this card are the only difficult ones to call IMO.

I'm kind of set on one of Griffin or Dawson winning but I just can't decide who. Very, very tricky. I've probably entered "over-thinking it" territory for both of those fights.

Romanov had one of the worst performances of ufc history against Volkov he is fighting Blagoy though who is just another obese heavyweight so you would hope he wins but it seems as soon as you put up any resistance against Romanov he quits if he sorts out his cardia and his mentality i could see him wrestle fcking alot of the division
