Predictions: 7 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 480 Points   |   28th Place

Azeredo vs. Mezhlumyan
Martun Mezhlumyan, DEC
Azeredo is getting older, Mezhlumyan has the tools to deal with him

Alaoui vs. Margallo
Xavier Alaoui, DEC
Not sure why Alaoui isn´t defending his Arabian bantamweight belt

Knutsson vs. Austin
Josefine Lindgren Knutsson, DEC
Probably highest level fight you can get in regional WMMA

Mastromarini vs. Almakhan
Bekzat Almakhan, DEC
Just by records this is a really interesting, but if Bekzhat takes the fight to the ground, he will have the clear advantage

Boukichou vs. Vojcak
Stefan Vojcak, SUB, R2
First time watching Vojcak, hopefully he looks good

Mandt Johnsen vs. Khodzhaev
Ole-Jørgen Mandt Johnsen, TKO, R2
I like Ole but this Tajiks are always tough

Yokubov vs. Kiwram
Topnoi Kiwram, DEC
A W and a cigar is all Topnoi needs

Predictions: 8 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 525 Points   |   Tied for 8th with 4 others

Azeredo vs. Mezhlumyan
Martun Mezhlumyan, TKO, R5
I’m not impressed with Martun at all but he’s facing an older opponent who was never good to begin with.

Sordi vs. Bakhytzhanuly
Asylzhan Bakhytzhanuly, TKO, R2
Sordi is totally done. He was essentially getting paid to take dives after continuing to fight on basically one foot in the pfl. He already won his million and got exposed as being a one round fighter so I don’t see what he has left to prove. His tdd has never been good and that’s exactly what his opponent does.

Knutsson vs. Austin
Josefine Lindgren Knutsson, DEC
Another great prospect fight. I think Knutsson is one of the best female prospects rn. She looks better and better in each fight. Austin is also pretty solid but not on knutsson level rn. Hopefully ufc takes her with a win

Mastromarini vs. Almakhan
Mauro Mastromarini, TKO, R2
This is amazing matchmaking; feels like a dwcs fight. You’ve got masteomarini who imo, is the best prospect out of Argentina vs almakhan who is one of the many crazy prospects out of Kazakhstan. Both love to go in for the kill and I think the winner should go on to dwcs as they would fit right in to the ufc. They fight in a stacked weight class, have tons of experience, and always go in for the kill

Boukichou vs. Vojcak
Stefan Vojcak, SUB, R1
Boukichou has only lost to solid guys but really isn’t that good. Vojcak is a pretty solid hw prospect so he should win. Hope to see him on dwcs

Mandt Johnsen vs. Khodzhaev
Abdullo Khodzhaev, TKO, R2
Fun fact: Abdullo was 36-0 as an amatuer

Yokubov vs. Kiwram
Topnoi Kiwram, TKO, R1
Topnoi revenge tour 😈 he was so close to the RTU finals but made one mistake and lost. His standup is very very sharp but he has very poor grappling. I don’t think he would do well in the ufc but he’s such a character I’m hoping he can get there

Asylzhan Bakhytzhanuly, TKO, R3
Sordi has slowed down a bit and is out of prime, while Asylzhan is at a peak of strength and I think he will feel the blood and start with his devastating combinations. He will go to miss the first two shots and put him out with the third.

Almakhan is really fast and a pretty big puncher for the weight class, I can't tell if he's undersized or not for the weight class but Mastromarini has looked big from what I've seen. I think Almakhan just has crisper striking, his faster, more dynamic and a very solid wrestler...these Brazilian and Latin American prospects do not have the wrestling anywhere near the Central Asian wave. Beyond that I know Almakhan is well trained, he's come up alongside Azat Maksum, quality in the water at their gym. Really good matchup, like Mayo said this feels like a contender series bout...quite literally higher level than a lot of contender series bouts between two 24-25 year olds with 14-1 records. I know Bekzat left Octagon in Kazakhstan to take this fight purely in hopes it would get him signed to the UFC as well.

Bekzat definitely didn't shine in this fight, his wrestling looked great, beautifully timed shots and strong from the body lock, could take down Mauro whenever he needed or wanted. He seemed the quicker and more technical striker and got the better of the exchanges in round 1 and 2 but there wasn't too much action besides at the ending horn rocking Mauro in r2. Round 3 was all Maudo though, that up elbow splitting Bekzats brow was nasty and you could tell he wasn't comfortable being cut that badly and bleeding but he recovered well, got the takedown and stayed mostly out of harms way. I expected to see Bekzat a bit more confident under fire and to commit more to his strikes. While his wrestling looked good, he wasn't able to pass or posture and generate any gnp.

Solid fight, pretty high level for two 24 and 25 year olds with 14-1 records. Bekzat got it 29-28.

Also the Filipino catching the Dagestani in that rear naked choke was holy canolli, unexpected.

@ayy even Azeredos losses aren't to anyone notable. Just a record full of random Brazillian journeyman with mixed results. Oh and a draw with a 47 year old Silva in a boxing match after his epic decline in ufc. Also this Korean guy he beat has a record full of nobodies too. If I had to guess, I'd say this "Matthew" profile is Azeredo himself.
