Robbery or not, fixed or not, ******** or not, the crowd undoubtedly influences these decisions. When you have 20,000 people cheering every time you land a shot, it seems less relevant whether it connects or not. Basketball refs, football refs, and refs in any sport have a greater tendency to miss calls with a raucous crowd. It just sucks when that one call matters substantially more than some trivial penalty and can mean one guy loses half his potential pay in a fight he probably won.

Yes, actually the fight was more even than I thought it would be initially. Unlike North America and Europe, in South America it is very common to see fighters start their MMA careers after the age of 30.
