Betting what the market does not think will happen is basically my MO to make money on fights so no disagreement there.

Tap had me confused, thinking the event was gonna start in a few minutes but it's actually another almost 2 hours

Shogun vs Potieria is a weird one. Ihor is honestly very sub-average both on record and in the octagon. The dude went to a decision with an 0-3 fighter 3 years ago and since then the guys gone 0-7. We see all the time "passed it" guys out-sharking younger substandard fighters across 3 rounds and I suspect this will be one of them. Not to mention the fact this fight seems to have been made with Shogun in mind, because I can't see one reason why they'd really care about Ihor? Tempted to sprinkle on Shogun one last time.

Hills takedown defence does worry me but I remember seeing Gustafson mop the floor with glover. Glover looked like he was stuck in the mud and I feel like he will look that way against hill as well. Hills footwork and speed will make takedowns harder as well

Quixotic New Predictions

Predictions: 10 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 600 Points   |   Tied for 3004th

Lacerda vs. Stamann
I tap Cody Stamann at -370. He has a digital ankle lock. Stamann shall finish the previous pitfalls.

Teixeira vs. Hill
I embrace Jamahal Hill at -135. He has a unique leaping clothesline. Hill isn't about to claw the previous pitfalls.

Marcos vs. Oliveira
I can't get enough of Saimon Oliveira at -145. He has a resilient level change and an exhaustive omoplata. Oliveira can finish the Octagon.

Bonfim vs. Lazzez
I take Gabriel Bonfim at -165. He has a perfect sprawl. Bonfim is about to locate the opposing forces.

Moisés vs. Costa
I can't get enough of Thiago Moisés at -380. He has an eccentric fallaway moonsault slam. Moisés ought to embarass the Octagon. Never fails!

Rodrigues vs. Ferreira
I lean towards Gregory Rodrigues at -305. He has a zen crescent kick and a xerophthalmic right hand. Rodrigues shall assist the cake.

Rua vs. Potieria
I go with Ihor Potieria at -210. He has a underrated fight IQ. Potieria could violate the victory.

Craig vs. Walker
I am obsessed with Johnny Walker at -190. He has a zesty leaping clothesline and a voluptuous overhead chop. Walker ought to guess the corner man.

Nunes vs. Fairn
I finger Josiane Nunes at -550. She has a cybernetic takedown. Nunes will likely clinch the dark horse.

Andrade vs. Murphy
I trust Jéssica Andrade at -500. She has a formal mindset. Andrade must quench the senses.

Almeida vs. Abdurakhimov
I am all about Jailton Almeida at -1000. He has a kinky hiza guruma and a genuine quivering palm death touch and also an amazing fight IQ. Almeida will likely deny the ring announcer.

Burns vs. Magny
I am obsessed with Gilbert Burns at -500. He has a tasty side kick to the throat and an amoral reverse side kick. Burns must hasten the victory.

Of course, I'm not 100% sure that Hill will win. But given his attitude and skills, he has a chance of winning by knockout only. I see it this way

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 15 Winners, 4 Perfect, 590 Points   |   Tied for 3148th

Alves vs. Dalby
Nicolas Dalby, DEC
Dalby has the potential to make this into a grueling grind against the fence. The fans won't like it and Alves is going to have trouble finding answers in the close range.

Nunes vs. Fairn
Josiane Nunes, DEC
This seems like a first real fight for Nunes and still it's skewed towards her success. There's always a chance that she fumbles the bag, but it's unlikely. Fairn could really abuse her frame but I think the judges in brazil won't take that kindly, neither the fans.

Marcos vs. Oliveira
Saimon Oliveira, DEC
Marcos got good speed, leg kicks and strikes up the middle. He seems like a slow starter too. Oliveira got that Muay Thai style, better overall skillset so he can mix things up offensively and the hometown advantage.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 8 Winners, 2 Perfect, 380 Points   |   Tied for 4644th

Teixeira vs. Hill
Glover Teixeira, SUB, R3
The odds on this one are completely wrong. How does Glover go from being a sizable underdog against Jiri, putting up a hell of a fight in which he would’ve won if he survived 1 more minute to being an underdog to Jamahal? Jamahal’s biggest win is Johnny walker, let that sit in. Ask yourself would Jamahal had put up even close to a fight that Glover put up against Jiri.

Figueiredo vs. Moreno IV
Brandon Moreno, DEC
Last fight could’ve gone either way, Brandon’s the only one who’s actually put a stamp on 1/3 of their fights so let’s go with Moreno to win.

Andrade vs. Murphy
Jéssica Andrade, SUB, R2
Holy **** they’re trying to retire Lauren Murphy

Rua vs. Potieria
Ihor Potieria, TKO, R2
Feed Rua to a guy with a decent record for hype as he’s on his way out.

Almeida vs. Abdurakhimov
Jailton Almeida, SUB, R2
Submission just a matter of what round

Lacerda vs. Stamann
Cody Stamann, DEC
Cody is the more polished fighter, vet Vs rookie

McKinney vs. Bonfim
Terrance McKinney, TKO
Terrance isn’t the best but he’s super explosive and after that fight with Dober he’s soon to break into top 15

Nunes vs. Fairn
Josiane Nunes, DEC
Size difference is the only reason why I’m suggesting decision Vs finish

McKinney Vs Bonafim

Predictions: 10 of 15 Winners, 3 Perfect, 670 Points   |   Tied for 1984th

My thoughts on this fight is that McKinney is going to want to put on a show in front of a crowd. The energy will get to him so I think the chances of him playing it safe or slowing down is very very unlikely.

He will throw everything at Bonafim, and from what I have seen Bonafim has really excellent movement, defence and head movement. I think McKinney will miss a lot and this will get him tired. He has to be really careful about flying knees but I think he will stay safe.

The main win condition is McKinneys wrestling which is dynamic and excellent. But on the ground I do not think he will be able to finish Bonafim with submissions. He will have to control him and that will take energy. All his movements are explosive and high energy. He sure isn't a grinding Dagestani.

I think by round 2 McKinney is going to gas out, and Bonafim is going to start working the body. And I think there will be a late TKO. This is how I see it playing out. Lets see....

One last thing... Glover has been training for this fight with Alex Pereira. Hill has been training with Anthony Smith. And look at the shape Anthony Smith came in. I know who's camp I prefer.
