to be fair, the line will probably get quite big for Mayes as the week goes on. Once people find out about the level of comp (and they already are) it will sway things

I honestly find Mayes underrated. I don't think people realized how good Gane was when he submitted Mayes, but Mayes is definitely a top 15 heavyweight talent with the lack of depth in the division imo

Also I think Drakkar Klose vs Rafa Garcia could end up ugly. Garcia took it on short notice and the only thing he has is really good wrestling. Klose really is incredibly talented and hits hard af

Gane improved since then and Mayes didn’t. He’s not a top 15 fighter he would lose to someone like arlovski imo

I think Mayes did improve tbh. I know it was against the bum Parisian, but getting anyone in a crucifix position after being out grappled twice against grapplers with low IQs shows a lot of improvement to me. Parisian is also known to only be good at grappling which is the only reason why he's in the UFC, so to beat someone at something that got them into the UFC when you aren't supposed to be good at it shows massive improvement

When I say Gane with a low IQ, I mean specifically with grappling. Obviously he has one of the highest kickboxing IQs at heavyweight

No, I meant it is going to be a beating on Garcia. Klose has a way of making you cringe against mismatches b/c he is so violent

Ahhh okay glad we agree lol. I think Klose is gonna kick his ass. He does have Pillowhands but if Garcia starts to gas Klose could get a late finish

Does he have pillowhands or just have faced dudes with decent chins? Brandon Jenkins doesn't have that bad of a chin, but he just isn't good which is why he gets knocked out a good amount of times. He also almost knocked out Dariush, but he got too over zealous trying to knock him out

Ok true, his right hand is thrown with a ton of power but it doesn’t always connect. Maybe it’s better to say he’s more of a point fighter? Idk it’s weird cuz he sure doesn’t fight like one but he gets almost no ko’s.

It could also just be the fact that he didn't come into the UFC with that many fights and finally is starting to put everything together. I mean he only has 15 fights in his whole professional career and this fight is only his 2nd in the last 2 years. I think the Dariush fight was a learning opportunity for someone that really does not have that much fight experience compared to other top lightweights

Maybe. I mean that Jenkins fight was also the biggest set up fight of all time. Usually when there’s a massive skill gap like that, it ends in a finish. There’s a reason Klose was -900 after 2 years off and plagued with a serious injury lol
