Ian garry is young but Darian weeks is a bum. I refuse to ever throw money on this bum even if he's a +600 his style is embarrassing as a fighter and he will get his temples elbowed in when he trys to take Garry down on the cage

weeks is no where near a bum, he's had 19 amateur fights, 6 pro mma fights , and 2 pro boxing fights. I'm not favoring him in this matchup but respect is due. The man can fight at this level. I'm excited to see this one unfold.

i disagree, debuting in a matchup with barberena and now garry shows that the matchmakers have respect for his skillset. He's only 28 with a pretty well rounded game. I don't see why he's getting hated on.

@chrispm fully agree. I get barberena isn’t very good but I’ll never understand why people are harshing on him because he lost. I wouldn’t expect anyone with 5 fights to beat a 10+ fight ufc vet who’s known for making fights very ugly, all while on short notice. I thought he looked hood considering the massive step up in competition with little preparation.

losing to the current version of bryan barberena means youre not ufc level.

ian garry is better everywhere. hes beaten guys that are better than weeks.

the only reason weeks is getting this fight is because ufc loves to give european prospects easy fights. look at pimblett vs vargas and wood vs sholinian. its a marketing strategy.

and if garry fought barberena he would win 10 times out of 10 times

^ that’s exactly the point I’m trying to make. I don’t get how you are reasonably call someone bad for losing to a tricky guy on short notice. He literally was coming off of a win against a 3-4 guy and now had to fight the toughest, most experienced person in his career on 4 days noticed. If he got destroyed, then I would definitely be calling him trash but he outstruck and outwrestled (not very hard to do to barberena Ik) barberena, didn’t look tired, and put up a competitve fight on 4 days notice. Didn’t gas, didn’t get hurt, and traded with a notorious brawler. He might not win against garry but it’s crazy to just write him off because he lost a short notice opportunity

Height doesn't necessarily always correlate with weight. If you look at him, he's clearly a bulky guy. I'd guess he weighs close to 195 out of camp. Could be wrong.

barberena is one of the most beatable fighters in the ufc roster(im not including freakshows like ontiveros/barnett). no grappling and on the feet he just brawls. chin is worse now(jason witt dropped him lol). cardio is worse now(he was gassed in round 2 of the matt brown fight). he got heart ill admit
