Afolabi vs. Almanza
Taiwo Afolabi, TKO, R1
Please don't tell me that Taiwo Afolabi travelled all the way from New York to Colombia just to crush a can.

Bostic vs. Medrano
Dorian Bostic, TKO, R1
And please don't tell me he's not the only one doing it.

Why go all the way to Colombia though? Surely there are plenty of local bums to beat up in the US?

No idea bud? . But it happens, like I said, every month I upload a bunch of results from cards in Columbia featuring American boxers. Some old guys, some young guys. All go there to pick up KO wins!!
Of course Mexico is popular for Americans too, as is the Dominican Republic.

Why not? Get a nice holiday and a KO win on your record

I'm sure you're going to be finding out a lot more wierd and wonderful things now your going to be editing.

@Mikey1903

I suppose I could understand it if they were going there for a holiday anyway and decided they might as well take an easy fight while they're there to stay sharp but if they're going down there for the sole purpose of getting a KO win then that's just sad.

@Mikey1903

Thanks mate! This role is fun so far as it's an opportunity to dive even deeper into the UK MMA scene! I'm still learning the ropes and making a few rookie errors while making event cards but @skelliher and @Gregory have been really helpful so far so hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon enough!

I'm sure you'll get the hang of everything soon enough bud. It's pretty straightforward doing the editing once you know what to do, the hard part is not being driven crazy with card line up changing multiple times per week!!
Greg will keep you right and Steven will be a great help for everything editing related. If I can help with anything else let me know. Like I said I'm sure you're be fine

@Baldric Eggling

Thanks mate, I took it up as @Gregory said the former editor for the UK MMA scene had stepped down and asked if I was interested and I took him up on it as it was both an opportunity to work on something I was passionate about and a new challenge for me as I've never done any kind of editing or reaching role before. It was a case of good timing for me really.

Stephen, check out this guys record. He's a Puerto Rican based in Florida. At the end of 2020 he was 8-1(6 KO's) . Today he is 16-1(13 KO's) and has just gotten himself a Co Headline slot on a Top Rank ESPN show!!!

That is a perfect example of why boxers do this. And a reason why I don't trust records!!! Haha

You know your **** about sumo though! I know we can only pick MMA and boxing but there are editors for other sports, @bestrafer7 is the kickboxing editor, @aRush is the Muay Thai editor for instance so maybe you could be the sumo editor is @Gregory was looking to expand into other martial arts styles. Obviously I don't know what his long term plans for events coverage are but if he went in that direction then it might be an option.

Sumo is a different beast. There are no weight classes you can't win a decision or knock anyone out (you can use leg kicks though kinda). Plus that's 15 cards in the span of 15 days. If you wanna pick sumo matches there is a site for that, its called Kachi Klash. The goal is to predict which rikishi will have the best record in each rank of top division. Anyways I went on a bit of a rant thanks for the props lol.

@Cheeseball

I know they have those big "Basho" tournaments every couple of months but aren't there smaller sumo events as well? From reading your thread, those tournaments featured the best in the world and I'd have thought there would've been smaller tournaments for the other divisions or something like that.
