I think you might be massively underrating Gastelum. The Till fight easily could have gone his way, and a sixty second heel hook is technically a loss but tells you nothing about where a fighter is at overall. He beat Heinisch convincingly, and I think Whittaker is just that good.

He's got one of the least bad 1-4 streaks in the UFC. And we just saw Cannonier get outworked and really fall apart with volume and pressure, which we know Kelvin can bring.

Pantoja is too good everywhere I have him straight because I think his value is so good. He’s the most consistent flyweight on the roster, I’d almost compare him to a Demetrius Johnson type fighter. Anyone can get caught with some crazy ****, but I’d trust Pantoja the most.

As for betting Jared @Duck, I’m skeptical of that fight and staying away from it. The one thing you have to give Gastelum is that he can eat a shot like nobody’s business. I would be not at all surprised if he eats everything Cannonier gives him for five rounds and out volumes Cannonier to earn a decision.

I went back and watched Royval's UFC run, wondering if I was underestimating him. And he's definitely more aggressive on the feet than I remembered, and he's gonna have a big height advantage. But he's so wild and overcommits that he gets fully knocked down by every calf kick. He's so out of position, that the solid upper tier guys are gonna dismantle him. Hoping Pantoja represents where that upper crust line starts.

If Pantoja goes too hard in the first round like his fight with Askarov and tries to force the finish, Royval will probably win. He's got fantastic cardio and output but I believe Pantoja is the better fighter. Tossup imo just depends on how Pantoja fights. You can probably expect Royval to put a much much higher pace on him than Kape did last fight that's for sure.

Cannonier vs Gastelum.

This fight will be much harder than people expect, Cannonier is used to controlling the cage and having space, while this time I believe that Gastelum will occupy the center and look for a fight as against every opponent so far, but it will not be the smartest. In the fight against Adesany he was demolished with a right overhand which is along with lowkicks Cannonier's best weapon, I think the problem is that in 90% of the situation he avoids hooks and side punches with a pull which is too risky if you have a strong hitter . I think Gastelum's chin will decide which has proven to be one of the best chins in the UFC, but in my opinion, he has never come across a hitter like this who has hammers in his hands.

Gastelum via DEC.

Bold prediction, but Killa Gorilla only loss at MW is vs Bobby Knuckles, arguably best fighter in the division not named Adesanya. Big reach advantage as well.

This is such a spectacular MW main event. I think we will see everything in this match. Kelvin will look to make it dirty, and should try mix things up, making Jared carry his weight. That should help nullify Jared's dynamite fists. I feel Jared will be able to keep Kelvin away with the solid calf kicks and the jab before connecting after a couple of rounds. I'd like to see Jared get another run at the title.

Saldaña vs. Lingo
Austin Lingo, DEC
Of all the underdogs on the card, Lingo is one of the main ones who could give the upset. Saldana looked really good at DWCS in large part due to the considerable difference in height, reach and weight against Vince Murdock. Against Griffin (an established fighter in the weight class) he had a fight that was much more difficult for him. Like Griffin, Lingo has a good takedown offense and a decent standing level. I think that takedown and control time is the way to victory for Austin Lingo, because being a mainly Striker Saldana this allows Lingo to get rid of the complications that Zalal's wrestling presented him in his UFC debut.

Value On Cherant

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 390 Points   |   Tied for 1533rd

Not sure how William Knight is such a big favorite, Cherants still a young kid training at Sanford with all killers and took that Menifield fight on short notice, Think Knight should win but the line is way off especially considering how bad he got mauled last fight

I think that getting mauled in his last fight works in Knight's favor.

He should be working on shoring up those holes that got exposed. Also...he's gotta know he has to capitalize on a step down in competition if he wants to be relevant at the UFC level.

I guess you could say the same for Cherant. Menefield snatched up that Von Flue with ease so he should be looking to also improve.

I think this is a fight where the better gas tank wins....and Knight has a decent gas tank for a jacked dude.

Martinez vs. Jones
Trevin Jones, SUB, R1
Jones is a lock, more technical on the feet and is better on the ground. Leaning towards a sub because Trevin has a super slick ground game and mana has showed a weakness to subs, getting subbed within 2 minutes by a not very impressive Drako Rodriguez. But I can definitely see Trevin by Tko as well, Mana definitely has power but so does Jones. and jones seems to be the more technical striker of the two so I could see mana running into something big just like Bautista did. Gonna be a rough debut for mana in my opinion

Jared has looked like a best at MW, his only loss to Whittaker is nothing to be ashamed of, the way Robert looked people are giving him a chance to beat Adesanya. Kelvin will stand and trade and put up a good fight but I think Cannonier is more polished than him

Guida vs. Madsen
Mark O. Madsen, SUB, R1
I can't wait for this one. Madsen is 1 in ch taller, has a 2 inch reach advantage and is 3 years younger. The Olympic Silver medalist in Greco Roman wrestling has crazy strength and power in his right hand. He throws massive haymakers as either a way to try to KO you or to close distance to get inside on the body lock, either way he hurts you, or gets the fight to the ground where he has great front chokes and deadly GnP. Guida has a massive experience advantage, conditioning for days and he moves laterally well and in order to stay safe here he will need to constantly be moving and try to tire out Madsen who only has about 9 minutes of conditioning. Guida has never won a fight in the UFC where his opponent has taken him down more than once. That is an awful stat to see in a fight against Madsen. I think Mark gets this to the mat early and finishes it shortly after. If it gets extended to the 3rd round this fight will be VERY interesting. I have a 2.5 unit bet on the Madsen ML at -160. In depth breakdown included in the video.

I rewatched Abdul's fight with Jacob Malkoun.  Abdul Razak has horrific takedown defense.  This won't work against a BJJ heavy fighter like Antonio Braga.  I trust Braga's chin to withstand some bombs, work a takedown and tap out Razak in the first round.  I think Razak will probably get cut after this fight, it seems his head is just not there anymore.  I think someone mentioned he has had legal problems recently so he must be on his way out of the fight game.

Razak Alhassan vs. Neto
Antônio Braga Neto, DEC
This fight is almost impossible to call to be honest. We've got someone on a 3 fight losing streak vs someone who's not fought in 4 years. It's so hard to say what happens but I think I'm going with Neto, especially if he can take this fight down to the ground. Alhassan has the power to KO anyone but nowadays his striking looks extremely slow and his punches are sloppy. He can get a KO in this fight because Neto doesn't really move his head but I don't know, I think Neto is able to get this fight in the clinch and work his trips from there. Once it gets to the ground, Alhassan is going to have a very very hard time getting back to his feet
