Sharky, the BetOnline odds I mentioned OPENED at -700. There is only a line next to them, indicating there has been no movement in either direction. And if you click on it, it will still just say -700.

once you click on the odds it shows you what time they opened and what time nearly to the minute that it was bet down to -700 

Either way none of this matter it should be -2500 like Kayla Harrison if he's gonna get matched up like she does. 


As for the LOL thing. it's a terrible habit that I just can't seem to break. 

Putting on my tinfoil hat: The UFC booked O'Maleg against Smolka because they knew Smolka would get "injured" or "sick" and pull out of the fight, and they could book a short notice guy to get destroyed and add to the highlight reel. 

This is going entirely according to Dana White's big-brain tomato head scheme.

I was thinking the same thing when smolka pulled out and the whole circus began. O'malley gets short notice PPV spot so people excuse a cherrypick matchup. It gives him some headlines leading up to the fight + he got like a dozen guys to call him out.

The whole circus situation can be so hilarious that it turns out to be pitiful or so pitiful that it turns out to be hilarious.
Smolka pulled out. O'Malley is challenged by a list of A-list of UFC Bantamweight fighters (and even also by 2 flyweight championship challengers like Tim Elliot & Ray Borg). After this O'Malley '' accepted '' Ricky Simon's challenge, shortly after he said that the matchup was canceled because Simon could not give weight in 10 days (it would be interesting to hear Simon's version of this). And after this, the UFC does not match him against Merab Dvalishvili, Ray Borg, Tim Elliot, Cody Stamann or Brian Kelleher (these last 2 at the time I do not accept to face them because they were unknown, leaving aside the fact that Stamann was top 15 ). These fighters are ready to face a Full-Camp Sugar Sean with just 10 days of preparation. But no, Sean O'Malley will face (on UFC 264 main card: Poirier vs. McGregor 3) against Kris Moutinho (a regional fighter with a 9-4 record, who has 2 wins in a row but his last 2 losses were by TKO). The objective is clear: O'Malley sells merchandise, a Highlight KO at McGregor's PPV translates into more money for Dana White, the UFC and for O'Malley himself. The funny thing is that the guy is sold as if he had the '' GOAT Mindset '' and that he lost by a '' crazy accident '', but he is clearly escaping the real challenges in his weight class.
On Moutinho: he is a professional fighter, he got an offer from the UFC for a fight in a big event (he clearly wasn't going to turn it down). Hopefully the Portuguese will have a better fight than we all think and that the note after the event is `` Sean O'Malley could not finish a regional fighter in short notice '' (It does not matter that it is 30-26, 30-25 , 30-25 the decision of the judges).

After all the layoffs and false starts Conor has been on these past few years, if he didn't have the ability to call his shots and cherry pick big fights, would he be able to climb the rankings? Would he beat Gaethje? Would he even beat Dan Hooker at this stage? I kinda don't think he would.

Poirier is an active fighter who has more than earned his place. Conor is a celebrity who occasionally fights.
