firefist has spoken. Just turn your head to avoid eye pokes. Brandon Moreno is the real ******** here. Should have turned his head. Maybe if he turned his head Fig wouldnt have eye gouged him like 12x and then got gifted a win in a fight he lost

Picking Edwards with a brutal TKO over Nate Diaz. That legendary Diaz chin can't beat father time. Edwards is a top fighter with lots of momentum and will finish Diaz

I don't really agree with that though to be fair. 33 years old isn't that old... even for a flyweight. 35 is when you START talking about that ****.

Yeah, and also this new narrative of a career of taking damage? When? He's got one decision loss, and was the guy coming on stronger at the end of the Moreno fight, whose face was swollen and arm busted. It was a great fight, but I suggest watching it again if anyone remembers Figueiredo looking like Arturo Gatti at the end. UFC's Youtube just posted it.

Moreno landed 8 significant strikes in the final round, which to my eye was generous counting.

Not that I buy the "look at their faces" argument

But the idea that Figgy took career ending/shortening damage while Moreno came out clean is the kind of revisionist history that ought to be reserved for a fight that happened years ago, not months ago.

Keep that energy! Every week the loudest among us overrepresent underdog picks in the forum, every week they're wrong (quietly), and every week we do it again with no follow up. We JUST did it with Sakai.

If all you did was read the last three pages of this thread, you'd think two paper champs are about to get exposed. (while 80% of the users vote for the champs)

Figueredo is coming in with a full camp and a chip on his shoulder, Moreno is going to be unconscious one way or another and all the boohooing about it ahead of time won't change that.

Figueiredo looks like a corpse during weigh ins. He specifically shouldnt be taking short notice fights. I'm sure Moreno will be better with a full camp too, but I was not surprised to see Figueiredo gas, when he normally wouldn't.

edit: forgot about the time he literally broke down crying while trying to get on the scale

Mmmm feed me downvotes, I love that delicious salt. Erison is a butthole but he's right in this instance, the short notice was more detrimental to Figueredo because he cuts more weight, obviously. Also he fights aggressively enough as it is, but when he has actual animosity towards his opponent it's even more brutal. Compare the first Benavidez fight to the second. Again, feed me downvotes and please bet big on Moreno out of spite, I'd like nothing more.

Figueredo by KO or technical submission

It's almost like people make picks based on the resume of the fighter, and he finishes almost everyone in a decision-heavy weight class. Like I said Mickey, just bet on it then.

not going to start betting again just to prove a point that the 33 yr old flyweight who crys from his weight cut probably shouldnt be the heavy favorite

Figueiredo vs. Moreno II
Deiveson Figueiredo, TKO, R1
Picking KO because I think an angry Figueiredo isn't going to look for a sub, just to inflict maximum damage until the fight is called off or Moreno goes all the way out.

Well, Deiveson has been talking about looking up to Usman's patient approach on the feet and wanting to emulate some of it, so I'll be shocked if he comes out like a bat out of hell.

Would love it if he spent the first half of the fight trying to put Moreno down though, think that would only oncrease Brandon's chances if his mexican chin holds.
