Prediction: wrong Arlovski   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

Sergei is very flatfooted when he fights. As long as Arlovski's can keep mobile and his chin doesn't get tested it's his to lose.

This is a hard match up to choose! Either fighter can win by tko/ko but for some reason I think The Paratrooper takes it!

Really have no idea. Maybe both guys get exhausted and turns into a dull fight.

This is an incredibly close fight, I wanted to go with Kharitonov because of his Pride days, but at this point, both of these guys are way past their primes. I guess the only thing that matters here is how focused these guys will be, and I think with Greg Jackson, Andrei will be more focused. Also, I flipped a coin.

Arlovski can absolutley win this fight, but I don't think it's as close as most people think.  Arlovski isn't as big a hitter as Kharitonov is, and he has a much weaker chin.  They both favor boxing more than any other skill set, and the fight will probably be contested soley on the feet.  I just don't see how Arlovski will be able to last with a (lower level) K-1 fighter throwing bombs at him for 3 rounds.  At some point, Arlovski will get clipped and take the dirt nap.

Seeing the weigh-ins didn't help me at all in deciding what my final prediction for this fight will be.  Seems like the only unlikely outcome is a submission win for either guy.  I could easily see either fighter getting T(KO)ed or winning the decision.  I better make up my mind soon.

5 years ago this was a dream UFC vs Pride matchup. Now I've just got a weird feeling about it, neither guy looks like what they once did.

True. The more I look at this card the more underwhelming it is. I'm interested in the Fedor/Silva fight, but this one doesn't do much for me and the other 3 HW tilts on the card are pretty uninteresting; you could make a solid argument for Del Rosario/Johnson, though.

If the other 2 quarterfinal matchups were on this card it would be insane. There is a fair amount of "tournament hype" that is crossing over and helping tonight's event.

Got to give credit to Strikeforce for making that happen... having all 8 competitors for press conferences and all that has been really effective.

Tonight's card itself is good, not great.

I'm also not buying Kharitonov's return. Arlovski might not have a solid chin, but he is quick and powerful with great boxing.

I'm glad I switched! Thought I picked round one, but whatever, great performance by Sergei.

I think a lot of people saw this coming.  What's even more tragic for AA is that Kharitonov looked awful before he got to Andrei's chin.  Even with no speed or head movement whatsoever, Kharitonov was able to get to Arlovskis chin, and thats all it took.  Anyone with power will put Arlovski out quick at this point.

@Daikaiju, I agree completely. He looked very slow. He didn't really punch, and even when Arlovski left his chin out their for a counter, Sergei couldn't capitalize (at first). Of course, he got the knockout eventually, so I can't cut him down too much, but AA definitely needs to change his style if he wants to keep fighting, his chin is long gone.

I hate that i was exactly right on this fight.  I genuinely like arlovski and have followed him since he first came to the ufc whenever ago that exactly was.

Arlovski's chin fails him again. The man just can't take a hit. That's 4 straight losses for Arlovksi, maybe Fedor isn't the only one who should retire tonight.

Arvloski actually looked so much better than Kharitonov last night.  At first I had Kharitonov by first round knockout, then Arlovski by first round knockout, but after the weigh ins decided to switch back to a knockout for Kharitonov, but in the second round.  I wanted to believe Arlovski's chin wasn't glass just yet, but I think it's time for him to hang them up because it seems like even a grazing punch will wobble him right now.  It's a shame because he's still a great fighter.  It's just one of those Chuck-like situations.

I think it's time for "the pitbull" to become a coach because his career is done ... I think Rogers said it best in the pre-fight that Arlovski needed to prove that he still belongs
