Pettis, Submission R2.
I can't really tell you why I think Pettis is going to pull out the rabbit here. If I had to justify it, I'd say it's because I don't think Pettis is going to be scared of trading with him, and Thompson can be caught if he is pressured and not given space to work. He doesn't do well if he is swarmed. He's open to a good right hook or straight. Pettis can't Ko him with one punch, but he can knock him down, and unlike Woodley or anyone Wonderboy has fought, he's a legitimate sub threat. If he gets a good position on Thompson, he's gonna choke him out. Don't quote me on that. Gut pick. And maybe I'm right, maybe I just need a ****.
Makdessi vs Pinedo
Pinedo, dec.
This is in my opinion the best value fight on the card in terms of wagering. Pinedo is a huge dog, amd this is abso-*******-lutely a fight that Makdessi can lose. Pinedo is an ugly fighter, but he's very hard to land on hard, and he's good at surprising people with unorthodox combinations and movement. Makdessi is a meat and potatoes flat footed banger, and he doesn't have the best chin in the world either. Pinedo has better conditioning, and Makdessi is very predictable. Vannata ripped his plug out badly, and though Pinedo isn't the same fighter, or as good, he's still go what is needed to catch Makdessi or outpoint him. Either Pinedo ITD or by dec is a good bet here.

Stephen Thompson, DEC
At 1st, I really didn't understand why this fight was even made.. Or Why Pettis even called out Wonderguy (Let's be honest, he's 36. It's weird calling him wonderboy), But I guess I can understand Pettis' thought process. He's been searching for something, changing up all kinds of **** since losing his belt. He's only got 3 wins outta 9 fights in the last 4 Yrs.. He's dropped to Featherweight and back to Lightweight, built his own gym and tried working with different coaches and really hasn't gotten any better or worse with all the changes. Sooo maybe he thought he needed a more drastic change.... A Welterweight fight. Sounds so ridiculous. But he called out someone who he can actually hang with in striking and has a wayyy better grappling and ground game than Thompson. So no doubt, he called out prolly what he believes to be the easiest Welterweight fight, with the biggest reward for making a statement win... It's a win win. If he wins and shocks the universe, he's prolly inserted into 170lb title picture. If he loses... He's not really losing anything. He'll prolly not even lose his Lightweight ranking.. Either way. I think he's bitten off tooo much to even close his mouth, forget about chewing..
Makdessi vs. Pinedo
John Makdessi, DEC
I honestly believe Makdessi gotta ******* blessing here. He went from an almost guaranteed mauling from Haqparast, to a way easier night in the office and maybe even extend his win streak to 3....
Formiga vs. Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo, DEC
Thought the Flyweight Division was dead..... C'mon Maaaan... You'd be getting rid of fantastic, non stop action, bell to bell greatness.. Like that super exciting scrap between Joe B. & Dustin Ortiz that prolly saved the division (that is, IF it were ever endangered to begin with) annnd then this fight... Which is clearly a top contender eliminator scrap. Winner fights Joe B for title shot,... maybe???
Barber vs. Aldrich
Maycee Barber, TKO, R2
Look Man, these kids coming up in MMA, start training wayyy earlier now. And the fact Maycee Barber isn't even 21 yet, and she's already sooo fun to watch. she only needs to tweak a few things, and SHE WILL BE a worldwide mercenary. Her nickname is so fitting. "The Future" is surely, the future face, and superstar for WMMA...

Bobby Moffett, SUB, R2
This right here could very well be your Fight of the Night. On paper alone, I love this fight. When I think about each of their fighting styles and then have em face out, Wowww! Should be a banger.
Davis vs. Maia
Jennifer Maia, DEC
I've gotta go with the underdog here.. I'm gonna use Mikey1903's tactic of picking a few underdogs on every card... Here's my 1st
Markos vs. Hill
Angela Hill, DEC
I knew this one would be super tight... And it shows. Tho I do believe Markos to be the slight dog against Hill. And I'm talking slight. But you can NEVER count out Markos man. That girl is a ******* firecracker. And she isn't afraid to literally empty her gas tank in an effort to eeek out a grimy win.
Gutierrez vs. MacDonald
Ryan MacDonald, DEC
Idk a whole lot about the Macdonald kid... But Gutiérrez's last outing was rancid. The **** stank for days....
Shelton vs. Espinosa
Jordan Espinosa, DEC
*[↑] Annnd underdog pick #2....

WOW! What a surprise! 6'3" Luis Pena misses 146 Featherweight limit. Called this **** weeks ago. Guy looked like death warmed up too, wouldn't be surprised if the fight is cancelled. This makes me even more confident in my Peterson pick, maybe even change it to a finish now. I thought attitudes were beginning to change with weight cutting with more guys moving up but no, still idiots like this rocket trying to kill themselves the day before a fight! So ****** dumb!

So you're taking some of my advice @BradThom and picking a few underdogs. It's a good strategy, well it works for me a lot of the time, the trick is being able to pick the right ones. 1 thing I look for is people overestimating fighters records, especially newcomers to the UFC. Perfect example of this on this card is the Gutiérrez v MacDonald fight, MacDonald is undefeated against a load of guys with losing records whereas Gutiérrez was WSOF champion but because he lost a few and his last was against very dangerous Barcelos the majority of people are picking the undefeated MacDonald. To me that's crazy and I got Gutiérrez easily beating him.
I also have a feeling this Maycee Barber chick is being WAY overhyped! She's had 1 win in the UFC and is being lined up as a future champ! JJ Aldrich has 4wins in the UFC and she's the type of underdog I look for

Stephen Thompson, DEC
we just have to hope pettis makes this fun because i'm projecting a relatively slow paced sniper match. idk why this fight was set up, not that it's a huge mismatch, it's just wholly irrelevant.
Blaydes vs. Willis
Curtis Blaydes, TKO, R2
don't give up on blaydes just yet, dude still has a rare skillset at hw. i feel like willis is gonna get pushed against the cage and taken down off a kick.
Makdessi vs. Pinedo
John Makdessi, DEC
not sure what to expect from pinedo. if he's aggressive he could shut makdessi down, but i'm thinking it'll be a more tepid fight pace and that's all john.
Formiga vs. Figueiredo
Deiveson Figueiredo, TKO, R1
i'm expecting alcantara to put apply a lot of pressure while still staying cognizant of keeping formiga out of shooting range. the brooks fight would make you think formiga should find some success though.
Pena vs. Peterson
Luis Pena, DEC
hard to know what to expect after the weight miss, but i still have higher expectations for pena than for peterson despite his heart.
Barber vs. Aldrich
Maycee Barber, TKO, R3
colorado battle. gonna be hard to finish jj, but i do think barber will be in her face the whole time.
Moffett vs. Mitchell
Bryce Mitchell, SUB, R2
the man got his junk mangled by a power drill and joked about it so i'll pick him just based off heart. i enjoyed him in wsof too. oddsmakers might be right on this one though.
Vera vs. Saenz
Marlon Vera, TKO, R3
vera should tear him up if he can stay off his back, but that's a big if.
Davis vs. Maia
Jennifer Maia, DEC
i firmly believe maia is a threat in the division if she can make her way into 5 round fights, but she won't get that opportunity until she wins a few 3 rounders first. she's always a little tepid at first, but i'm gonna chalk up the carmouche loss to octagon jitters as they say and predict that mmamath contradicts itself again. totally possible that maia gets overconfident on the ground though.
Markos vs. Hill
Angela Hill, DEC
hard-nosed wrestle-boxing is well within randa's skillset, but she's so inconsistent that i think hill is gonna see her entries coming and be able to sprawl or turn a corner.
Gutierrez vs. MacDonald
Chris Gutierrez, TKO, R2
ryan's competition has been pretty bad and i love to pick against those types of resumes.
Shelton vs. Espinosa
Jordan Espinosa, DEC
i like shelton, but i can never pick his fights right, so i'll say espinosa grinds him out and hope to be wrong.
