@Gregory : I expect him to take advantage of how entertaining an interview with Rampage Jackson can be by indulging him and being a match for him. Shazam.

Shazam what?  That makes no sense.

Ariel Helwani grew up watching pro wrestling and that was his first passion. If he's getting wrapped up in what amounts to ridiculous pro wrestling storylines for MMA, then it damages his reputation and his value as a source of reliable MMA news and information.

I think ariel Helwani knows, as do his fans, how ridiculous this whole fiasco is, but that doesn't mean we can't play with it. He's enjoyin himself, and i appreciate the fact that he genuinly likes fighters and their shenanigans.

@buffalo I don't really agree. And if he's going to do this kind of stuff it shouldn't be done at the expense of Jon Jones's reputation. Everyone is turning against Jon Jones when it's not even clear there are any facts whatsoever about any of this.

All this bickering and indifference toward Jones, but still it seems like few understand that everyone "spies" in MMA.  If you're smart, you watch tapes of your opponent in previous match-ups, and training footage if you can locate some.  People talk, too.  There aren't many secrets, especially at this level.  Get over it -- spy gate doesn't mean a damn thing.  Just another ploy or excuse.

@Gregory... you're right, even if there was some knucklehead in there "spying" on Rampage, that doesn't prove at all that Jones knew about it or was involved.  And like I said before, I watched that interview Rogan did last Sat and Jones was nothing but respectful.  I'll continue to like him, despite this garbage, until there's real proof that he actually played a part in trying to get an advantage over his opponent.

I somehow think this is all fake. In truth I think Jones is going to give Rampage a concussion this fight either way with how many elbows he is going to take off of the dome.

I think RWLawman hit the nail on the head. At this level, it sounds like Rampage is already making an excuse for in case he loses.

I dont like Jones regardless of the whole spy thing. He is a great fighter but I think he is as fake as you can get and the more he wins the more his real personality and arrogance comes out it seems like. They spy thing doesnt affect my opinion of him.

I do disagree with the people saying that spying doesnt matter at this level. Its one thing to be able to go online and look at an opponents training schedule and watch tapes of old fights. But when you have somebody at your opponents camp watching and reports back daily on every detail of the camp You can learn exactly what hes working on, how well he is progressing, what he is struggling with, if he struggling to cut weight, maybe he gets some small injury, every little detail you'll know. And at this level everybody is so good that any tiny advantage can be the difference between a W or L going on your record.

I agree with that @LoneRonin.  You look at a lot of athletes now a days, and early in their career they put on a classy front, but their true colors bleed through eventually.  Michael Vick is a classic example of this, and I was fooled by his facade.  Vick was always on commercials with little kids, and always kept himself clean cut in appearance.  During his pre and post-game interviews, he would complement his competitors, and act like a good representative of the NFL.  However, in his last couple of years with the Falcons, he started acting like a punk.  He flipped off his fans in the Georgia Dome when they booed the Falcons after a terrible performance, he got popped for drug possession on an airplane, and of course the dog fighting fiasco.  It also seemed fitting that while he was going through his whole personality meltdown, he grew out some dreadlocks, and started acting very arrogant on during pre and post-game interviews.

Some times you've got to wonder how many of these guys are being honest about themselves.  I truly appreciate a real class act when I see one, because now a days with athletes being as spoiled and babied as they are, the respectful ones are quickly becoming an endangered species.  Here some of these guys are literally handed a life on a golden platter, and they aren't appreciative enough to take advantage of it.  Instead, they piss it away.  Hopefully Jon Jones isn't fake quite to that degree.  The good thing is, Dana White doesn't put up with ********* like the NFL does, so if one of his guys goes out and gets into some serious trouble that makes the UFC look bad, you can bank on their careers with the UFC being cut extremely short.

Comparing Jon Jones to Michael Vick?  What the hell?

Michael Vick was involved in an illegal dog fighting ring and was sent to jail.

Jon Jones ran down and caught a  burglar while being on his way to go meditate in a park.

You guys are persecuting the kid for no reason.

I said hopefully he's NOT that bad.  That's not really a comparison.  When I start talking about an issue, I tend to get carried away with the issue, as opposed to staying on the task at hand.  I'm in no way saying that Jones is anything like Vick, and right now he doesn't seem to be at all.  Vick was clearly a POS, but my point in bringing Vick up, was that I get irritated by athletes who don't appreciate the position they're in, and act accordingly.  Jon Jones has been very classy for the most part, but some of his arrogant tendencies have started to show through here lately.  I highly doubt Jones will do anything as controversial or criminal as Vick did, but I'm saying that I hope he never does.

@Greg Jones meditating and stopping a mugger doesnt really have anything to do with him being arrogant. Like Lawman just said Im not saying Jones is a ****** human being I just think he puts up this humble nice guy front when really he is arrogant and in love with himself. Id rather he just let his true personality show rather than pretend that he is some humble guy that he isnt.
