Villante is the toughest Guido alive an all American .. but he must fall, and pay back even tribute for having more access to world standard home made Italian pizza and pastas and other dishes, than others..

Rua has Italian heritage also.. ( look it up ) and Rocky Marciano's spirit will help his Shogun fire fist to find Gian, so Gian can pay off his depth of access to amazing standard Italian dishes and probably those fancy Italian desserts too .. ( not all of us have this luxury / blessing / luck )... pay up Gian!

Solid fight. Shogun should actually probably take this, Villante gets rocked by basically everyone he fights and doesn't have a good enough chin to survive most likely.

I actually like this match-making for Rua. He's not a top level guy any more and I really see no sense in him fighting those type of guys. Long time vets and journeymen sure, top level no. I hope Villante and him put on a show and Rua comes out victorious.

@mikeyg He's only ranked there because a lot of people have just dropped him from their rankings until he's off suspension. I'm sure most people that still rank him, do have him at #1 or at worst #2 since Cormier is the current title holder.

For me, it comes down to whether or not Rua can hold up. No question he is one the greatest Lhw's of all time. In fact, he is one of the best mixed martial artists period. But he has put his body through the meat grinder. If he can hold up, there is no question he will put Villante away. But Villante is durable, so this should be interesting to watch.

On a side note, LHW is a mess right now. It seems like every division goes through this type of thing, but this is the first time I can remember LHW being arguably the weakest division. Hopefully some young guys can put together streaks, because as of right now, this division is a 3 horse race, and one the 3 is suspended.

Shogun's super lucky that Villante's a meathead with the fight IQ of a duck. He looked the slowest I've ever seen him, hittable as ****. If Villante had the ability to operate his brain and his limbs at the same time Shogun would've been slept.
