I'm surprised to see this so close in the picks. I think it's fair to question Ronda's mental state but athletically speaking she's a step ahead of Nunes (outside of striking). Ronda's got the superior cardio, superior ground game, she's the superior grappler & scrambler. Nunes has been susceptible to takedowns and a few judo tosses or two. I think to pick Nunes you have to argue that Ronda isn't 100% and/or that Nunes has closed the gap on Ronda's skill-set.

Nunes comes out for the kill early on and is the aggressor but starts to fade late round 1. Roused gets it to the ground in round 2 where she locks up an arm.

No way ronda ever fights at 145 vs holm b/c she knows she would look like a coward for NOT facing Cyborg.

Not really if Cyborg is too busy failing drug tests to fight.

Why people are so sure Rousey has better cardio than Nunes is beyond me. So far in the two Ronda fights that got out of the first she looked gassed in the second (and in the Miesha fight it's hard to say it was due to damage taken).

Nah, Honda can actually fight past round 1. Against miesha she wasn't gassed at all when she was doing all offense which I expect her to do here having a large grappling advantage. Where as nunes gassed out on her own offense against shevchenko and zingano

Yoss, I don't think it was being gassed against Holly. It may have been her face was hurt so she has to keep her mouth open.

If I remember correctly Miesha (who has awful striking) was starting to get the better of Ronda in round 2 of their second fight until Miesha went for a takedown and Ronda outgrappled her.

Just saying that I don't think Ronda has amazing cardio, it has (or had) a lot to do with the fact that she has so much confidence in her ability to finish in the first that she has zero pacing.

Not saying she does or doesn't, I'm just trying to understand where this confidence in her gas tank outlasting Nunes' comes from.

I for one don't know which one of them will do better in the latter rounds. Could be Ronda, Could be Nunes. If Nunes can keep the fight standing (she's a brown belt in Judo and uses angles pretty well, so I can see that happening), Ronda is so bad on her feet it could easily cause her to gas out.

EDIT:: By the way, in no way am I super confident in my Nunes pick and would not be surprised if Ronda does submit her in the first round, but I just don't think either of them has an amazing gas tank. Ronda because she lacks certain basics that can allow her to preserve energy while still winning a fight and Nunes because she hits full power on most of her strikes.

You don't have to remember the fight I just posted it. What you're not seeing between ronda and nunes is how much more fluid ronda is even on the feet and on the ground and the clinch. The skill gap between them in athleticism alone is pretty apparent. Also c'mon if miesha survived nunes onslaught nunes would have gassed hard like she has 4 other times she's lost. ronda had cardio in the 3rd round and was coming forward in that 2nd round against holly.

Also it seems you are confident in nunes because in the expendables 3 thread you said nunes was a good solid bet. That implies you are confident along with your continued shine for nunes in here too. In fact id bet you money on this fight or a tapology  challenge however that works

No ******* way. She can stand because of her athleticism but she don't reach Nunes technically (she just bullrush with wild punches, nothing more)
