The UFC plays the casual fan as ignorant of how the talent is in the 145, 155, and 170 weight classes and they are right in that assessment. That is how they can get away with it.

I'm not saying Edgar should get the shot now, silly goose. Of course he can't get it now after the beating he took from Aldo. But to say that McGregor has not avoided his responsibilities as champ is asinine. If you hold a belt, you must fight the number one contender for said belt. And the fact is that Edgar was the #1 contender for the better part of a year and McGregor ducked him so that way he could have meaningless money fights that ended up creating logjams for contenders in divisions like Featherweight and now Lightweight and he is a **** for doing so.

Do we really need this? Or is it that the MMA casuals WANT this because "Hurr Durr! McGregor is the bestest fighter in the wurld! He should challenge for all the beltz! Hurr Durr!"
And as far as champs challenging other champs, Jon Jones beat McGregor to the punch a year plus ago when he said after UFC 182 he had plans to challenge for the 265 strap after he beat Anthony Johnson. Shame that he couldn't beat drug addiction first. :D

Dana booked the **** out of this card precisely because of injurys and hes making sure this event doesnt fall flat in the biggest market on earth.. Its a smart move but NY better not get used to it...once this happens it will be back to "watered down UFC's" like has been sorta common place lately.. Outside of the card Conor and Nate were on..many of these UFC 's have fallen short... I mean look at 204... is anyone even really talking about it or are we allready marking our calenders for 205... Ya Dana is pulling out all the stops on this one but it will be short lived.. They could literally have %60 of the card remain without injurys and this one would still be better than most UFC events..Hell the Preliminarys are as good as some UFC Mains..

It's all for money,he left that division behind to pursue other stuff,he's the champ on paper,that's it (imo).I don't see this as champ vs champ fight,I see this as former FW champ vs current LW champ and I don't really give a **** about all the promotion or what ******** other fans want to eat up and believe.No other champion in history would have been able to circus around this much and still have a belt.I know he's the champ,I just personally don't consider him the champ.I don't really see how anyone can consider him the FW champ,but whatever.
