Poirier vs. Johnson

(I have a feeling he wins though, when you try to get a guy to flinch at the weigh ins and he doesn't you've already lost the fight - see Conor vs. Nate I and many others)

I'm going Poirier by 2nd Round Sub. It's hard to believe he hasn't Subbed anyone in almost 4 years. But when you look at all of MJ's losses, he either gets Subbed or losses a Decision. And I don't see this one lasting for a full 25 mins so that's why I picked a Sub.

Since opening my account here on Tapology I'm 8-2 on Poirier fights. I've picked him in all 10 fights. And I'm 1-8 on MJ fights. I can't pick his fights worth a damn.

Should be a ******* great fight, Think Poirier takes it though.

@Detroit Superstar his inconsistency makes his fights very hard to pick. He went from beating Edson Barboza to losing to Beneil Dariush. Not that Beneil is bad.

@Bigj383 I picked a Sub for Poirier even though it's been since The TUF 16 Finale against Brookins he got his last one. But there's a reason behind it, besides me being a fan of both Poirier and the D'Arce being one of my favorites and his favorite. If you go back to the Poirier vs Swanson fight Poirier put his power on display early and Swanson choose the grappling route because he got a taste. Now that Dustin doesn't have to spend a bulk of his time or as much time rather on watching his weight and weight cutting he's able to improve more on technique and skill. Not to mention the increase in power that he's been showing us since the move to LW. Now the way I see this playing out is MJ will have a slight speed advantage but both guys are gonna want to get after it. When MJ gets a taste of his power he'll want to go for a TD. And MJ's big weakness is Submission defense. I think he'll get desperate and shoot right in and get tapped.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking but that's how I have this fight playing out in my mind.
