Why wouldn't the hate be real? Cormier lost his daughter because of someone who committed the same crime Jones did, but people are making Cormier out to be the bad guy. I'd be extremely frustrated if I was Cormier, Jones has every mental advantage.

I say that because in other fights, the hate is fabricated ala Rashad-Rampage.
I know this is real.

Cormier said his gameplan vs Rumble "before" the fight and executed it perfectly. he said he will be in JJ's grill the whole time. no holding onto the fence for either guy. i expect some broken bones in this fight and i will be buying this ppv as well. two title fights and pettis vs barboza. oh MY

I'm not pulling for Cormier and I still think Jones owns that ass.

There is nothing that leads me to believe that Jones won't own that ass for the rest of his life.

I don't understand how people can dislike Cormier, when he's such an excellent role model to follow. Daniel Cormier's been through a lot of ****, and he just toughed through it. He is a man of outstanding character.
Like I said before, Cormier's only shot is if he forces Jones to face him at angles, where he is most vulnerable to getting hit or taken down. Then again, who knows if that will even work because Jones' footwork post-Gustafsson has improved greatly (that fight with Glover being a great example).
We'll see what happens, hopefully Jones' time away from the octagon will make this fight a little more exciting to predict.

I'm not sure that many people actually dislike DC as a person. I know I don't. The issue with him as champion though does not sit well with me. I understand how and why JJ lost his title, but come on. I don't like seeing the belt on the waist of the last man to lose against him.

DC seems like a good guy, but he walks around with an inflated sense of accomplishment at LHW and he has really gotten arrogant lately, it was weird to see him take shots at Gus at a press conference for example. I also agree with Buffalo Ben that it doesn't sit right with me that Cormier has the belt or is considered by anyone as the #1 at LHW. I think Cormier's belt should either by an interim belt or they have kept the belt vacant until Jones came back.

I met Cormier in real life back in 2009. This was at a Strikeforce event outside of Chicago. He was very nice. Him and Scott Smith were part of an anti-bullying group set up within the arena. The guy is genuine.

Cormier is definitely a good role model.
Doesn't help him avoid getting crushed by Jon, though.

Cormier going to bring it. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get his hand raised but I'll side with the top p4p fighter

Not to terrify anyone but there's a small rumor that DC is injured. He allegedly was seen at a wrestling tournament barely able to walk. It's from BJPENN.Com so of course it isn't true.

@FaceStomper Yeah, I would hold off on taking any story from BJPenn.com super seriously when it comes to injuries. I'll wait until someone like MMAFighting reports it.

It's not that bad, just limp. From what I've heard. It shouldn't matter too much.

A limp a pretty big deal for someone who has to throw kicks, go for take down ect. If he has a noticeable limp, that is not good. Espcially for someone like Cormier who needs explosiveness to close the distance on the much larger Jones.
