So it looks like Fedor came out of retirement to fight a 1-0 guy!

I have no problem with this opponent or any other opponent. Fedor's legacy is already established. I personally think that Fedor was the best of an era, and if he wants to comeback to fight for whatever reason I have no problem with that. As I said nothing will diminish Fedor's accomplishment and legendary status

He's also 40-10 as a kickboxer, including K-1 titles and a KO win over Sergei Kharitonov.

Those accolades alone make me happy that he's the opponent, and not Hong Man Choi or Bob Sapp. Because both of them were being reported.

Fedor's legacy is set in stone. He has nothing left to prove, IMO. The people who think Fedor is GOAT, will think he's GOAT regardless. The people who don't think he's GOAT won't be swayed. He could sign with the UFC and KO Cain, JDS, Stipe, Werdum and Arlovski all in a row and those people would still say Anderson is GOAT. But if Anderson retired for four years like Fedor and came back to fight some absolute scrub, those same people wouldn't say anything negative.

Yo bros, why isn't Anderson fighting the best MWs of today, yo. Why isn't he beating Weidman, Jacare, Rockhold, Romero, GOAT Bisping? Is he ducking the competition, bro.

"No, man. He fought the best competition of his time, breh."

Also, Shinya Aoki vs.Kazushi Sakuraba according to mmafighting.com: "The promotion will hold three events in three days at the end of the year on Dec. 29, 30 and 31. The main event of the show on Dec. 29 is currently slated to be Shinya Aoki vs.Kazushi Sakuraba in a catchweight bout."

Not big on the fight but its basically a not as high profile Couture/Toney. I'll watch. Also since it's out in the public now, I was told as well that they will have more than 1 event this year.

Jaideep Singh is a good kickboxer with great wins in KB, and is 28. Also, Jaideep already made his MMA debut. Not a top 10 heavyweight, but a fun fight for Fedor after his layoff, and he is getting paid.I'll be watching. Hopefully, this new promotion can have success. I'll be good for Japanese MMA to have another big promotion. Also, as said above Aoki vs Sakuraba!

Fedor is garbage. Had to give him somebody he can beat, no surprise here. Brett Rogers about knocked him out, and that was over half a decade ago.

I wish people would not try to justify this garbage fight. The guy hasn't win Kickboxing fight since 2011 and is on a 3 fight losing streak. Only 1-0 in MMA

It's not a fun fight because the outcome is a forgone conclusion. There is no upside to this fight for Fedor's legacy for the fans really it's a cheap attempt at a cash grab for those so nostalgic for the past they don't give a **** about a quality fight. At least give him a solid journeyman.

^"it's a cheap attempt at a cash grab" it's a ****** attempt at a cash grab. Why would they think it is a good idea to have the fight on New Years' Eve? A night where a majority of people have other plans. Just seems really short-sighted.

@Big Fedor's legacy is set in stone and what's the problem on making big money.
@Griffy It's a good idea to have the event that date because in Japan is customary to watch big events on TV on New year's eve in contrast to north america

He can make whatever money he wants just don't expect me to get excited over it or even watch it for that matter. Isn't it a co promotion with Bellator couldn't they have given him at least Kongo. His past legacy may be set but no matter what in the .000001% chance he gets KOed here it will definitely be black mark.

It's just sad that all this crazy hype about Fedor coming back got all built up,people are thinking ufc, others bellator, everyone's buzzing about it and then he ends up fighting Jaideep Singh in japan.I knew it was going to end up like something like this so (I guessed satoshi ishii rematch) I never got my hopes up,but this is even worse than I imagined.I have watched a ton of Jaideep Singh fights,he's flimsy and mediocre even in his one dimension that he has.I hardly remember the fight with Sergei but iirc it was flukish. As a giant Fedor fan this fight is just a slap in the face.People want to see meaningful fights and way more importantly in Fedor's case cause his management already ****** up most of his career, so it was one last chance to really see if fedor could do something meaningful again.Nope.

It's probably all for the best anyway,he's probably making a ton of money,he could have looked bad vs UFC competition etc. etc, but as a fan it was either good competition or bust.I couldn't even get mildly excited about this fight, it's garbage.Fedor's legacy is amazing, but for me personally the last almost 10 years was tarnished by a mismanaged career, one that was pushed with hype and talk only to end up with something that was a letdown, like this fight over and over again.People talk about Fedor's legacy and how nothing can be changed now,I agree but on the flip side you can also say yes it was amazing, but could it have been a lot better if he did things differently?Did we really get to see Fedor's potential? No his career was a mess,so to me it isn't just,oh he did everything he can bla bla bla.Not really.

Guys you're all getting close, just admit it. Fedor is a washed up no talent ***** who has no desire or drive to fight anyone that has any sort of reputation. He's a mook.

Think your being a bit harsh on him. He went with who offered him the most money. UFC could have match but they did not.  He got offered 2.5 million to fight and that not counting sponsorship ect.

Acting like this is fedor ducking a real fight is a little bit dramatic, when it all comes down to the fact he was offered more money to fight in Japan, which the UFC choose not to match.

I dont know where that 2.5 number came from. but if thats all Sakibara is paying him he would have got that or close to that just from his PPV share in the UFC.

Never in a million years would Dana have given Fedor a PPV share cut. Nobody gives a **** about Fedor.

The people who would ever buy a ppv because of Fedor, are already buying the PPV anyway.
